I mean like the alert box at java scripts.... Coz' my computer is slow at startup, I want an alert box that gives a notice to the user:

EXAMPLE "Please wait till the tray icons are shown.[then image of the tray icons]"

Can anyone tell me how to do this... if you can display the procedure.

---I don't want suggestions like... "Delete all files at startup so that your PC can respond faster on startup"--- coz' your nothing do about it! my computer is really slow!!! even i delete all startup files.

I woke up...there must have been a power outage for a short time. But when i turned my PC on...it gave this message; DISK BOOT FAILURE, INSERT SYSTEM DISK AND PRESS ENTER. I have no kind of disks. I have the recovery disks i made a while back...but it said" NON SYSTEM DISK" when i put it in. is there any way possible i could get this PC to start up without any disks? And if i do use disks, will that mean EVERYTHING will be lost when i get it to start back up? But i need to know what this is...and if i can start it up without disks somehow. Ok heres the story,

I'm looking at buying a new PC (only the actual base PC, no screens or keyboard or anything like that.
I want it to be quite fast with good graphics card and decent RAM.

First question: I know a lot of people with high spec computers have cooling.... does having a these powerful components generate more heat? Or do they run cooler than normal components because they do the job without really getting out of first gear?

Secondly: What options do I have when it comes to cooling? Advantages and disadvantages of each would be great

My lexmark printer is not working and the tech support they are offering is not working. Does anyone have any idea what I can do to fix? The power will not come on. Lexmark tech support was contacted. they state that the power supply box is broken. They sent me another. I replaced with the old supply box, but to no avail. The new one did not work either. I contacted lexmark again. They stated that it must be the power supply box, since the box was not getting warm to the touch. They sent me another box. It still does not work.
Anyone have any ideas?
By the way, the printer is plugged directly into a wall, I have tried different outlets, and the green light that is on the power supply box is lit. The power supply box is warm.

HYPOTHETICALLY, I have a special form for my company where I add the name of the companies I'm dealing with to the contract.
The name of the other company is repeated a lot, which can't be changed manually if I wanted to replace it with another one.

Sometimes when I type the words do not appear for sometime and then they come altogether very quickly. When I play checkers and try to move the pawn it doesnt move and then it suddenly jumps to the place I want it to go. Its very distracting and often makes me lose the game because I cant concentrate and get frustrated with the movement of the pawn.Please help me if you can.Thanks.

Okay, I have a MONSTER who is enjoying messing around in my computer. For the last few months, he(and I'm sure it's a he) has been changing the password on my computer. Before anybody says anything about my choices of passwords, THEY'RE NOT EASY TO CRACK. I mix captials, lower cases, AND numbers but he still gets in at least once every 2 weeks. My ISP spyware removal doesn't help. Is there any FREE software that will work on fixing this problem of mine for good so he won't be able to keep doing this? I don't need a "free scan". I need something that will remove any and all traces of him from my computer. The software I've used so far which hasn't been much help: Spybot Search And Destroy, Super Anti Spyware, and Ad Aware.

In my network, two server is configured static ip and 1 work group is DHCP. I am constantly being scanned by this I.P address: 201.86.23.173. I'm using Sygate personal firewall pro. and don't have much luck trying to backtrace it, very curious as to who this is? Security is still okay but the scans are relentless. (Not the most able of computer users but not daft either)

I've no practical experience in wireless internet access.
I am just trying to see if I can find a solution in helping my boss to solve his connection problem.
His notebook wireless connection signalled "weak" when he tried to access the wireless network at home (before that the connection was fine).
Heard about SSID and the security key, not sure if we need to do any settings of the SSID or the security key in my boss' notebook in order to get connected?
Seek your advise and thanks in advance.
