I want to know what's the easiest way to hide a file in the computer mainly for pictures, because i share a computer and won't like others seeing my files, is there any way i can hide them and them not being able to find them or putting a password to access them...any help is appreciated

Should I have a firewall active when using Limewire? I'm not that familiar with computers. Is a firewall like Mcafee which blocks viruses? If I need one, how do I go about getting one? Please don't tell me not to use Limewire cause I don't need to try any others sites cause so far I'm very happy with LW.

How come I will answer someone's question, but then when I go to check up on my answer later in My Profile to see if I got any thumbs ups, my answer (nor is the question) is not listed in "My Answers"? What gives?

It's a gateway laptop and my total size is 67.6 GB, and I have 36.3 GB left. I can't even run one program without my computer freezing up. What can I do to make it run faster and not freeze up? My biggest problem is with I-Tunes. It won't run at all.... Please help....

Sometimes i see strange icon on the task bar.ZoneAlarm has to icons.One Z and one with green and red lines.But it is something like Z with hand or finger.I have the feeling somebody is entering my pc.I don't know but generally hand means i share or give something to somebody?How can I learn what this icon means?

I’m getting ready to enroll in the Art institute online. I’ll be working with programs like 3ds max, Maya, After effects, and Premiere. I want to spend around $2000 to $3000 for a good computer. I’ve prices some quad core Dells and after tricking them out with 2 monitors and 4 gigs of ram and some other stuff it’s over $4,000 I checked out some Alienware computers with similar specs and they are about $300 cheaper. Spending around $4000 for a computer seems to be too much. I know a quad core extreme must be the fastest processors they are so expensive. So my question really is what is better a regular quad core or a duo core extreme.

i just got a new laptop for graduation and it CAME WITH windows vista, i bought 2 games along with more windows xp games, the 2 vista made games i bought are
-lego starwars 2
-flight simulator x

the only problem though is that when i install them everything goes all fine then the instalation stops. in no parts of the instalation does it ask if you would like to create a shortcut.after the instalation is done and you press finish, when you go to the "all programs" theres no place ( at least that i can find) where the games are saved to. i have flight sim and lego star wars installed but no way to play them, whenever you put in the disk it asks , would you like to remove all data ( unintsall) the game. and i can't find how to freaking play the game,, please noone put an answer like , oh you shouldn't have got windows vista or dont upgrade, cuz i didn't have a choice, so some computer wizard please help me~!!!!!

just got a warning yesterday saying that i should stop downloading movies. i've used limewire and bitcomet to download movies so im not sure which one got me caught.

is it still safe to download music? should i wait like 4-6 months before i do it again? should i just stop completely? is mIRC a good program?
