I'm not an expert so this is only a best guess. It sounds like the games aren't fully installing because if they were, they should show up in the menu (all programs) and you should have had options to create shortcuts on the desktop. I don't have an answer why this might be happening. Just out of curiosity are the games showing up in the add/remove section (start > control panel > add/remove)?

My suggestion is to follow the prompts to uninstall the games after you insert the CDs. It's possible that enough of the games were installed to prevent a reinstall. Then I'd use the Vista search feature to look for any other files or folders. (Click start and in the lower left corner you should see the search box. Type in lego for example and if any other files or folders are found, delete them as well.)

You might want to contact the tech support people for Lego Starwars 2 and ask them for assistance. It's possible that they might have a patch or hotfix that came out after your copy of the game was made. I believe they're at Lucas Arts:

Same thing for Flight Simulator X.. Scroll down to the bottom of the page and there's a link to Microsoft support:

http://www.microsoft.com/games/pc/flightsimulatorx.aspx

As far as games that were originally made for XP or earlier, Vista has a Compatibility Mode that (supposedly) lets you run those games. This link describes it in more detail:

I'm sorry I can't be more help or give you a better answer.

It should be likein XP only they have a scroll bar for All Programs instead of multiple columns.
Click on Start and Click on All programs and scroll down and look for the game it should be listed.

If not try the search search feature.. It works well.
Search for the game if you find it Right click on the Icon and choose create shortcut, or copy the shortcut and paste it on the desk top

vista business enterprise is the equivalent of xp professional mutually as vista abode top classification is the equivalent of xp media center. vista maximum suitable is the blend of the two one among them, function sensible. it may paintings positive. additionally, you're able to desire to be able to touch the producer of the computing device and be able to have them deliver you production unit working equipment discs. they could cost a sprint for transport, yet i could anticipate the main manufacturers could nevertheless be offering production unit discs for all their win 7 fashions.
