You only need 4 lines for 50 extensions? WOW I would think you would need more.

You can get a full T1 which should handle that without any issue. If you find that your internet is too slow just upgrade that to a T3 and you still should be fine. Go with a company that offers T1 and T3 so the upgrade wont be too difficult.

Each phone line will use about 64k of the bandwidth available so even with 4 in use you still have plenty of bandwidth available with a T1 unless you are downloading to each machine all the time. In most cases for webbrowsing and normal email that will still be just fine.

I have clients with a T1 using 6 lines and 25-30 machines and they are working fine. We did a bonded T1 with another T1 for one of them to keep their webserver unloaded and even that works just fine.

Hi You internet speed is already optimal. If you want to increase some more, you need to check whether windows update is enabled or antivirus update is being downloaded or any other application like chat messenger, browsing etc is open. Close all applications except your torrent app. You may get slight difference. Note :- 256 kbps is too small bandwidth to download moviews etc. It was be used only for browsing. Better go for 2048 kbps data plans.
