I called the state of Texas, and left a voice message for someone who works for the county planning commisison. I DID not include my e-mail. But, the next morning, upon checking my e-mail, I had an answer from the person I called (not e-mailed). She said that she simply did a GOOGLE search on my name and came up with one e-mail. I tried for one hour to duplicate this, and evern I COULDN't find my e-mail address. HOW DID this person find my e-mail?
Can anyone help? I am concerned that she found it, I am concerend that I feel ten years behind the times, in not being able to do the same thing.

Ok, i tried to test my boyfriend. I was pretending that i was my sister's friend on MSN on my own pc. By the next day, my boyfriend knew that it was me. He told me that he found out through my IP address. LoL
Is there any programs where u can detect or find out your IP add? How is it? Help!!

i formatted my hard-drive and installed windows xp.
everything worked fine except for the sound.
i looked on the internet for the drivers, there were none.
i went on the people who made my computer's website (iQon) and they had no audio drivers at all.
what are my options here?

PC Configuration:
My PC => Switch => ADSL modem => telephone line.

=+ I am able to change it by turning off my modem for a few second.
=+ I want another way to do it.
=+ I don't want to use proxy.
=+ Please suggest any manual settings or any software that can do this.

technically how does motherboard send signal to power supply to turn itself off when you shutdown.
And when I remove power supply from mother board and system, plug it in to power yet it was not turning on. The CPU power button might be touching one or several pins of the power supply to turn on. What are these pins???

I am refereing to an ATX system.

I would like to know this for troubleshooting purposes.

if i have my desktop computer in a room, and it is connected to a screen in a far away room. if i have an ethernet network installed in the house, and i need to run applications on that screen, can i just simply plug the mouse into the network (through a usb convertor or so) and control the computer from far away? please help

Connection Test Failed Make sure your device is connected to a telephone jack using the included phone wire. Otherwise contact your ISP.

Had my BT line checked twice (inside and outside) and rewired. Had new micro filters. Since having Broadband, my line "crackles" (not regularly, but enough to be annoying!), switching off the modem sometimes works. I use all the wires included with my modem and I've spent a fortune ringing my ISP (which is namesco). they've talked me through reinstalling the modem and checking all the equipment, which is fine.

Any sensible suggestions would be appreciated.

I have a laptop connected to a BT homebub dsl router. While I am not working it all works fine.

The probelm I have is that I connect to work VPN via a client.
When I am connected to the VPN I am unable to access any local addressess such as the homehub homepage 192.168.x.x or the external hd connected to the Homehub. I can still access the internet and everything.

Is there anyway of specifying for certain addressess not to use the VPN tunnel?

I use Windows XP, laptop is connected via ethernet to the homehub.

Any thoughts?

I'm leaning on either Intel Core 2 Duos or AMD Athlon 64 X2. I hear Intels are much more better but when I check them up, they are more expensive.

So far the low-ends are

Intel Core 2 Duo 4300

vs

AMD Athlon 64 X2 3600+

is the 4300 REALLY that much different to justify it's extra $50 (really tight budget here).

If anyone has any other budget processor suggestions (multi-core preferred), please say it
