How can I connect directly to the internet so I don`t have to go through an ISP

ALL access to the internet is via ISPs (Internet service providers)

If you're just trying to avoid paying for service but don't really care about being connected thru an ISP, just connect wirelessly at a free Wifi hotspot- like some public parks, restaurants and apartment buildings offer.

Even if you connect for free using a Wifi hotspot, the owners of the hotspot are connected through their ISPs network, such as Verizon, AT&T, Comcast etc. so you're still connecting through an ISP.

You can also try connecting wirelessly to any network in range of your computer, but using any network without the owner's permission is illegal. Ask your next-door neighbors to grant you access :)

You can't. If you could, NO ONE would use an ISP.

You could try going to a local coffee shop that offers wireless access in their restaurant I guess...

Good luck on that!

Cheers

You can't do that. Unless you have a laptop with Wlan capability and you find a public wireless network somewhere.

You can't... you need to have someone to provide access.
