It says OC where the temperature used to be. I hope there is a reset somewhere or a easy fix. Any ideas? What does OC stand for?

My friend keeps doing high rev neutral burnouts in his 2002 acura. he revs it to about 5000 and drops the shifter into drive or low. Will this ruin the transmission or engine? he doesnt seem to think so! how many neutral burnouts can a car take these days? in the 70s, my high school buddies used to do it all the time and never had a problem, but i dont thnk it is the same now a days?

i think this also damages my rotors cause i go through them once a year too. ive already replaced the calipers, (in pairs of course).i know brake pads are suppose to wear down flat and evenly and rotors should last a life time (no i dont drive like a maniac). it seems like there is something wrong that keeps causing this over and over.i replaced a tirerod end on one side not to long ago, i dont know if thats related.

I have a 1997 Nissan Sentra GXE. Cylinder #2 is receiving no compression and thus is not firing. To repair would either require quite a bit of labor (timewise) or just plugging in a new engine. These options are not worth it to me and so I will be looking for a new car soon. My question, though, is, how long can I run this car on three cylinders for? Should it last me a few months? Could I take it on a long drive (400 miles) that does not have any hills (it's relatively flat terrain)? Thanks to anyone who has some help or advice!

Is this bad for your oil as opposed to using a engine block heater?
Someone told me it "cooks" the oil requiring more frequent oil changes

hello, i was wondering about a problem that i have with my brakes on a 95 Pontiac grand am se coupe. the problem started with the car kinda shaking whenever I would come to a stop. also the car kinda hesitated when stopping, kinda like it wasn't stopping to it's full capacity. This went on for a couple of days so i checked my brake fluid and saw that it was low, so i filled it up. Noticed about a week later that the same thing was going on, so i filled it up again and chalked it up to a a leaking brake fluid system and was content with filling it up every week. So i kept filling it up but noticed that the shaking would get worse and even happened when the brake cylinder was filled up to the top. Fast forward 2 months or so, i come home from college ( my car was sitting in the same spot for the whole 2 months), and decide to go to the store. read the additional comments to see the rest of the question

OK I keep my car outside but am in need of fast starts in the morning. Winter here hovers around 0-10F but we have nights of -30F with -50F wind chills.
What motor oil should I use in my hihg mileage vehicle (98000mi)?

5W30 or 10W30?

Should I use
100% synthetic
50/50 synthetic blend or
100% dino

I am changing it myself tomrrow so any answers are appreciated.

I made a silly mistake.I have a 1998 Dodge Durango. I put about maybe 5 tablespoons of Powersteering fluid in my master cylinder. A friend of mine told me that it would not do anything but now my front brakes have locked up on me, is the caused from me putting in the powersteering fluid. It is not the calipers because the Mechanic that I normally have work on my car lifted my truck and said that both front brakes are locked, not just one. He drained the line and refilled it but it is still doing the same thing. I'm a single mom who trys to check my fluids all the time myself and made a big mistake. Can you please tell me why my brakes are locked and what I have to do to fix it and if it is going to be costly? Please help me, I'm desperate and scared that I will not be able to afford to fix my mistake. Help me with my Locked Brakes....PLEASE!

I found little pools of leaks around each of my tires. I'm guessing its brake fluid, but what would cause there to be a leak around all 4 sides?

My Mazda B4000 pickup (50,000mi) just started making a metal on metal noise in the rear. I only hear it going forward and it's most prominent at speeds between 0-25mph. No recent repairs have been made, it just started happening, but the weather has started to get colder. Any ideas? How much in repairs am I looking at? Can I fix it myself?

I have a problem with the rubber strips that are just above the windows. They look like the have grime on it, like the rubber is wearing away. Usually the rubber is smooth but on my car they are rough.

How can i fix this?

Please note: The car as whole was a very good bargain. It has warranty and the inside is in excellent condition. Its just that the rubber looks horrible.
