when the car is in gear and i try to turn it on it jumps and wont turn on.

adjust the clutch, its not releasing enough. but if it is hydralic, the clutch is rooted and its time to get the clutch, pressure plate and throwout bearing replaced

I'm guessing what you meen is that when you have the car in gear with the clutch pedal pressed, and then you try to start the engine, the engine won't turn over freely and the car tries to move. It sounds like the clutch isn't fully disengaging when you press the clutch pedal fully.

Clutch isn't releasing. Might be a stretched cable or if it's hydraulic, a leak. Check the reservoir. and fill it w/ brake fluid if it's low.

The clutch or clutch cable is gone. Sad but true.

Sounds like you have a bad clutch ,so it is not disengaging the motor from transmission .

I'd first check the clutch. If it's not that it has to be the sychronizers in the tranny.
