If I store gas in one of those standard, red, legally approved containers, will the gas eventually go bad in any way?

If so, how long can I store it for before the gas is no longer suitable for use in a car?

And are there any tip on the proper storage of gasoline?

Thanks!

I have a Grand Cherokee with a leaking t-case. I have found out that it is coming from the back of the case, where it goes out to the rear driveshaft. Is it serious or minor? Is this a problem with the gasket/seal (if so, what is the gasket called), or is it something bigger?

...and the turn signals have stopped working.

The thermal switch is not on the drivers side floor board, nor in any obvious location. Does anyone know where this thing is located in a 95 Buick Century??

Appreciate the help.

I made a silly mistake.I have a 1998 Dodge Durango. I put about maybe 5 tablespoons of Powersteering fluid in my master cylinder. A friend of mine told me that it would not do anything but now my front brakes have locked up on me, is the caused from me putting in the powersteering fluid. It is not the calipers because the Mechanic that I normally have work on my car lifted my truck and said that both front brakes are locked, not just one. He drained the line and refilled it but it is still doing the same thing. I'm a single mom who trys to check my fluids all the time myself and made a big mistake. Can you please tell me why my brakes are locked and what I have to do to fix it and if it is going to be costly? Please help me, I'm desperate and scared that I will not be able to afford to fix my mistake. Help me with my Locked Brakes....PLEASE!

I got a very ruff idle, but at normal speed, it's fine.

I noticed it a couple of months ago, when I started the car, it would run really ruff for about 10 seconds, then after a couple of weeks, it would run ruff for 30seconds, then longer and longer and now it's running ruff and doesn't go away.

But only at an idle, I replaced the PCV valve and the MAP sensor and still the same problem, spark plugs are black with carbon from whatever is causing this problem.

EGR valve is working, air filter is new, I don't see any broken vacuum lines, compression is good.

Any Ideas what could cause this problem, I hate to keep replacing things that aren't bad

No codes are showing up either for this

Hey everyone. I am so frustrated with my brakes. I have a 96 Nissan Sentra GXE standard brake system. My dad is really good at fixing on cars. A month ago he fixed my front callipers and rotors and my brake pedal was so firm and my stopping distance was greatly reduced. Well I had to come to a hard stop to avoid running a red light and then, my brake pedal became soft again, my stopping distance was long again. I've taken it to a few places like Midas and CarX and they are saying they dont' see anything wrong, maybe I needed my backs adjusted. Well we did that too. So now, my dad has also replaced my drums and did some adjusting, replaced my master cylinder, we bled the brake line a good 4 times front and back and my pedal is still spongy and it goes down to the ground. I am really upset because i spent money I didn't have on the master cylinder and that wasn't the problem. he thought maybe it's the brake booster, but my pedal would be hard, not soft. Any suggestions or guesses? thanks

!995 Mark VIII, heat blows and eventually warm the inside of the car, but it doesn't feel warm. It takes too long to get to desired temps and never reaches that temp if outside temps are below 20 degrees.

Ok i have changed my calipers on my 2006 jeep liberty but for some reason the breaks are still weak. The pedel goes about half way to floor before they work. I have bleed the breaks 3 times now and have not seen air come out. Now the way I did it was my wife pushed or pumped breaks and she held them down. Id open the screw and let the flow come out and close it and she would let go of the break. This process was repeated about 8 times on each caliper. If there is something i missed please let me know.

My car (Mercedes-Benz, 190E, 2.6, 1991) just cruises. Even if I press the gas paddle completely, it does not seem to have any effect. I had replaced both the gas pumps, when I bought it in 07/'07. Have the gas pumps conked out again within 4 months?
What is the cheaper way to fix this problem?
Any suggestions, help or advice will be really appreciated.

my wife ran the car out of gas. when we put more gas in (about 5 gal) it will start then sputter and die. I tried to unplug the battery to reset the computer but that did not work. I also left it in ACC for about 15 min then tried to start but it does the same thing.

I get references and it seems the dumbest of dumb mechanics get picked to work on my trucks. I have had nothing but bad experiences and what more do you do, I get references, I see the bad parts and they still screw me over....

So now, I have a 2001 F250 4x4 diesel that is leaking God knows what, think its transfer case fluid not sure. It isn't motor oil, it isn't brake fluid and its a standard tranny.

So I get the ball joints repaired yesterday, take the truck out, it was wobbly down the road, thought well I might have to get used to it. So this morning I go to leave on a 400 mile trip and there it is , pissing in my driveway fluid. So I get underneath and a seal that surrounds the bar coming from the wheel towards the middle of the truck, is hanging 1/2 way off and fluid all under it.

I check the other side, normal looking. I call a friend, says its bad, don't drive to Nebraska, will seize your wheel up.

Several people have suggested changing the gas cap and I did that, and nothing happened. The truck runs fine, I'd just like that light to go off. Oxygen sensor is the only other thing I can think of possibly?
