The cable: Contact your local auto parts store, tell them what type of vehicle you have, and ask them for the proper battery cable, there are generic ones, but you need the measurements for those. If they do not make one specifically for your car, measure the length of the cable so that when you reinstall it, it will follow the same route as the old cable.

The battery: Same rule applies, get one for your car, proper cranking amps, posts correct and on the correst side.

Don't forget you have air bags in this car, so be sure to take off the negative cable first. Thats the side of the battery with the -- by the battery post. The positive cable has + by the terminal. and when your done put the positive cable on to the battery first..

If theres enough cable you can cut the end off and install a new terminal clamp for much cheaper. If the whole cable is shot get one from the dealer and replace the hardware with some dielectric grease. Ground goes to engine or chassis and positive goes to starter and alternator.

12.6 volts is a fully charged battery. 10v is dead. Alt should charge at 13-14.5 volts.

Battery cables are all the same. Just go th an auto parts store and tell them what your car is. They should have what you need in stock.

Disconnect the NEGATIVE side cable first and take the bad cable with you to the Auto Parts store. They will know what to get. Replace NEGATIVE cable last!!!
