I was driving our of a parking lot tonight and didnt see that the curb stuck out into the exit area instead of its usual 90 degree angle. I hit it pretty hard but all seemed fine. Then i noticed that my car engine which normally stays below the 210 degree line was up against it. I let it idle for a while and it crept up to about 230 degrees. when driving it went back down to around 210. Its a 96 pontiac grand prix 2 door. The oil pan is pretty far back so i dont think it was that. Im not sure if the timing was thrown off or if that could make it overheat. I also noticed that there was a small weird noice under the hood but it could just be something that im not used to hearing. Im not sure what is going on so if you have any clue please let me know what you think.... Thanks

I have a 99' Cadillac Deville. It is hard to get it to crank in the morning, but after i get it to crank once, it will turn over for the rest of the day, as long as i don't let it set for to long(6 or 7 hrs.) The lights don't dim when i try to start it. The battery is good. I don't know if it could possibly be the Inadvertant Power Relay because the inadvertant power relay clicks when i try to start it, but iam really not sure what that is/or what it does. All the lights, and windsheild wipers work. I don't think it is the starter or ignition switch because it starts fine, and runs fine after I get it started atleast once, and don't let it set for long. Any Suggestions would be very helpful, and if anyone has any information on the inadvertant power relay i would very much appreciate it. Thank You

I have a 95 Taurus GL 3.0L V6. Check engine light is on, and I went to Auto Zone to get a free diagnostic testing done on it. The reading came out as:

565-(Canister Purg Circuit Fault)
327-(EGR Circuit Voltage Below Minimum Voltage.

I really need to know what I can do to fix it. I also need to know how much it may cost, and whether or not it would be an easy DIY job. Thanks in advance.

i rear ended somebody and bent by where my power steering pump is. It leaked power steering fluid and there is a leak somewhere. I don't really care about power steering. Will I do damage to my car driving without fluid or will it just make it harder to turn.

So my car leaks a good amount of oil and is getting rather low, but I'm out of time and can't really take it to get checked out yet. My engine is fine otherwise I know, because I got it inspected only a couple weeks ago. Is it alright for me to just keep the oil leveled out for a few until I can deal with the problem?

I am thinking of purchasing a horn for my truck and have no idea how to wire it in. Do I need to go through the fuse box? I know i can ground it out on the metal anywhere on the car, but where do I put the Positive wire?

My car is leaking a good amount of oil. I know the engine itself is in fine condition because I just had that all checked a couple weeks ago, so I'm guessing just a seal or something needs to be fixed. The thing is I am out of town and don't have access to all my money. What should I expect do pay for this?

I posted a question earlier about this. I am just not satisfied with the answer. 1998 Ford explorer starts jerking and bucking when accelerating from about 45-65 mph. I am having zero lights or codes. What is the problem? I have always had rice burners and the Ford seems less mechanic friendly to me. Anyone out there ever experienced this problem? The lack of lights and codes has me boggled.

I am going to buy 2 door shells, and fenders for my Blazer K5. How do I replace them? Can it be done in a driveway with standard tools? I prefer an answer from a Blazer Owner. Serious answers only!

let me first explain that this problem is intermittent, it doesnt happen all the time, could go days before it does it again. while sitting in drive with my foot on the brake i can feel the tranny shift into neutral then back in to drive. it has also happened while cruising down the highway"shifting in to neutral then back in to drive.. but mostly at a stop.. what could this be? very annoying.. other than that the tranny shifts very smooth.. fluid looks fine and was just changed.. this has been going on for about a year now

I have a '96 Oldsmobile Ciera SL. Everything in it is flawless...except the driver's side-view mirror. Like two weeks ago, the entire glass part fell off-but was still in perfect shape. So I cleaned it, cleaned everything all up good. Roughed it up with sandpaper and used some epoxy to glue it back on. "It is stuck on their for life" said the guy at the store. After one day, the thing was cracked into like 10 pieces. Now half of it fell off again. So i have half of a mirror that's all cracked. What should i do?

I had a new fuel pump and fuel filter installed in my car but whenever I step on the gas (to move from a dead stop position) the engine stalls for a second then jumps to life. No problems after it gains speed. What could be wrong?
