Chevy impala 2003 3.4 engine (the mechanic did the work 2x's) 1st stated the pump was incorrect but the only difference in the 2 pumps was the manufacturer 2nd charge to do the work both times

you had it replaced? i assume you had a mechanic do it, and it sounds like he screwed up the job. Sue him in small claims court and get your money back... people need to stop putting up with these crooked mechanics. Next time just get a service manual and do it yourself. Working on your car is not a great way to spend an afternoon, but it will save you time and aggravation in the end.

it sounds like someone did a poor job replacing the fuel pump. they bent the float so your not getting an accurate reading in the tank.(why your gas Gage is off)
as for the fuel leaking and running under 30 mph hour that can be a number of things. a make, model and year would be helpful to anyone who could help.

all of your problems most likely from the fuel pump being changed.
but the bottom line you need to take the car back. if they don't wanna honor there mistake file a complaint with the local police. take picture's document, what ever to prove what a crappy job they did.

As for the leak and inop fuel gauge, take it back to the shop that did the repair, and get them to correct the problem.
As for the dying and stalling, there are a myriad of things that can cause it.
But first we need more information.
Year?
Make?
Model?
Engine/trans?
Does it do it all the time, or only when…
Cold?
Hot?
Full tank?
etc. …
Check Engine light on?
Have you checked for Diagnostic Trouble Codes?
Did it start after some cogent event (tune-up, collision, etc.)?

check all your connections cause it sounds like one of 'em is loose. Most likely on the filter. i replaced my pump and my bro in law changed my filter while i was dealing with the pump and the next day on my way to work i lost a quarter tank of gas due to bad connection at the filter.

i'm undecided it kind of relies upon on your region. Mechanics charge diverse in many places. If I had to wager i could discern approximately $40 in line with hour exertions for 2 hours of restoration time plus the cost of the factors.
