I have a '96 Oldsmobile Ciera SL. Everything in it is flawless...except the driver's side-view mirror. Like two weeks ago, the entire glass part fell off-but was still in perfect shape. So I cleaned it, cleaned everything all up good. Roughed it up with sandpaper and used some epoxy to glue it back on. "It is stuck on their for life" said the guy at the store. After one day, the thing was cracked into like 10 pieces. Now half of it fell off again. So i have half of a mirror that's all cracked. What should i do?

go to a gm dealership and get new mirror glass... chisel that old one away then glue the new one on.

if your skilled, you can buy flat mirror and cut it just like any other window glass.

That epoxy wasn't what it was cracked up to be, was it? When the glass broke, was there a sudden change in the weather? You may have to only put glue in a few select points for expansion and contraction. Talk to the body shop people.

go to an auto parts store. you should be able to order a replacement glass for it. if it's a black mirror body, you may be able to order a complete mirror assembly that will be a perfect match for the original. If not, try an auto wrecking yard. Again, you may find a perfect match for the original.

Good luck
