ii used the sae color touch up paint to cover the scratch but it looks like fingernail polish,what can i do to smooth out the touch up paint so that it will blend in well with the rest of the car,without spending to unch

I found one of the spark plug wires laying on the headers burnt in to and replaced all of them but to no avail still missing,will set and idle all day and never go dead,never go dead while driving but missing,drops rpm,hesitates,driving me crazy!

My car (2003 P.T. Cruiser) does not read zero on the RPM meter when I am at a complete stop. This causes it to "jump" off of complete stops and it's really annoying. The worst part is that it never does it when anyone but me drives it. Am I doing something wrong?

This car was purchased brand new and has had a huge number of problems for which it has had to be taken back to the dealership for repairs. The current problems are that the driver's door cannot be opened at all and I am having to enter and exit through the passenger side door. Is this something I can fix myself? Is it a bad computer chip or something? It also seems to have a problem with overheating. The meter will go into the red, but the car doesn't seem to start steaming or smoking and hasn't actually stopped running because of this even though I try not to travel more than 30 minutes at a time for fear that the car will stop. The dealership has addressed this problem 3 times already. Can anyone help?

People call me all the time and ask dumb things like, "My check engine light is on, what causes that?" I tell them, "well we could waste hours performing this exercise of unfounded speculation, or you could bring it in!"

Somehow when I sit here in front of my computer, I feel inclined to answer dozens of stupid questions from people I have/will never meet. Why is that? I have cars waiting at my shop for me to fix,(and get paid) but Im sitting in my pajamas until noon answering questions for free.

I have a 95 Ford Explorer. The Overdrive light keeps blinking on and off. (The transmission was replaced about 7 years ago). When driving, the car shudders every few minutes. Replacing the transmission is very expensive. Is there a quick fix to this problem? How long can I drive the SUV like this? Is it safe?

My car is a 92 corolla but it only has 82k on it. The car shakes if i come to a complete stop on "D" if i shift to neutral or "P" the car would not shakes. What could be the reasons for it to shake? I don't really want to take it to the mechanic without any ideas; i got a feeling it would not be cheap if I let them "test" everything. Thank you

I have a 93 astro-van 4.3 liter w / port Fi, it wont start when its cold. it runs fine once I use starting fluid. but if it hasnt run for a couple of hours it just wont start without starting fluid.if it had a Carb, I would just rebuild it but I dont know much about Fi. I checked the engine codes and all I got was code 12 (about 15 times over and over) someone please help!

is it ok to remove and inspect the thermostat, it is located on the side of the radiator. after inspection can i put old one back if needed. or is there a seel? thanks again.

I need information about "blems" or blemished tires. A family member bought new tires and did not know they were blemished. The tires ended up going out of balance really quickly. A family friend had the same experiece at the same tire store. The salesperson did not tell either my family member or our family friend that the tires were blemished. They both have to get new tires now. Is the tire store liable?

I have a flat tire and I did everything that I was suppose to do but when it came time to take off the tire It wouldn't come off. PLUS on top of that one of the bolts that was still kinda screwed in broke off. So I have three bolts for the hub. What do I do?!

BTW: I can't pry the wheel off. kicking/pushing/shoving the tire does not work also. Please no dumb answers like (turn the radio stations around and the tire will come off) please only serious answers. I am in no mood for BS answers.

My 2002 ford explorer is all of the sudden having starting problems. It will start, however often times if it is cold it will idle rough for about 10-15 seconds before it will idle normal. Never stalls, just has trouble starting and running at first. The car has about 91,000 miles on it and except for flud changes to the engine and transmission, and a belt and pully change, the car has had not major engine services done.

Any ideas as to what could be causing this?
