i own a shop and when i want it off real quick there's a chemical stripper that works really well on all paints, especially automotive paint, you brush it on and it removes the paint and then lightly scrap it off,its a lot faster than sanding, and cheaper also,it will take about 2 gallons to do an average size car but it will take it down to bare metal i can usually do a car in one day like this,,after that you still have to sand it and prep it,then prI'me it,but im telling you it takes a lot of the work out of doing this,i use a product called zip-strip,it does the best on this,it cost around 30 bucks a gallon, but it works, and that's what counts, good luck i hope this helps.

ouch bud are you sure u want to do this? im an automotive artist theres only 2 ways to do this use a stripper (which contains methylen chloride) or sand/grind it off. both suck and take along time 1-3 days (including dismantling clean up and such) the stipper will eat some plastics and rubber based products (not all but some) it will also erode the body fillers on the body (all cars have some body filler(bondo) somewhere).
the stipper is easiest to use u brush it on and scrap it off with a plastic squiggy repeat as nessary. (very improtant you need a chemical respirator rubber gloves (ot latex) and body protection. methelene chloride which is the active ingredint in strippers effects your nervous system and burns like a son of a gun. after after your done you need to wash your car with water (water counters it) if you get it on your skin you need to rinse with water. that said and your not a professional i would take 80 or 36 grit sandpaper and just sand it of with a da or electic sander. DO NOT KEEP YOUR SANDER ON EDGE it will sand off the metal (some say it doeant and thats stupid if you scratch the metal you are taking away from the surface. jsut hand sand your corners and edges. u can take a razorblade and scrape the paint off also.
now you need a respirator for either process. look in your yellow pages and look for a industrial or automotive piant supplier they will have the proper saftey equiptment for about 50-100 bucks. i dont mean to be rude but a 93 vic i personaly would touch that unless the money is good like 10k . theres more indepth stuff on the web or your paint distributor. try the valspar, sikkens, or dupont websites. i know that sikkens as a huge knowledge base on there website if u can figure it out.
good luck man

We use caustic soda and calcium equal amount and apply on the paint, leaving 10 minutes the paint will deteriorate and loosen, can flush away the paint, but before do it direct do a test and take proper safety precaution when mixing them and applying..

The best way is to remove every part from the sheet metal body... ie. glass, rubber, frame, everything. Then take the bare body and have it media blasted.

Short of that aircraft stripper will be second best.

You can sand it completely down, you can media blast it or you can use a paint stripper.. Either way is a lot of work for one person.
good luck..........

go buy about 50 dozen eggs and bomb the hell out of the car then let them sit for a couple of days and you should be good to go.
