Actually cuz its kinda funny. I work in a shop and I laugh when people ask questions on here or on the phone- like your check engine light... Hmm, crystal ball says...... Or my car is shakin, whats causing it? Its a IBM problem (idiot behind the machine) lol
Or dont cha love Autozone diagnostics???? i got this code-
Uhh, you got the circut..... Not the problem- Now go get your car diagnosed!
Its a source of amusement and a feeling of helping someone. Your doin your good deed of the day! =)

i own a repair shop and i do the same thing, almost identical to what you do ,all the answers on here are free but sure tie up a lot of time, there's people that don't work ,they have all the time in the world to spend on here,i get a few hours in once in a while and some people wouldn't know the right answer anyway even if you gave it to them, this is like an addiction,my wife says its worse than drugs, lucky for me i have two other mechanics to do some of the work, but I'm seriously thinking of giving it up,its very time consuming, and you can give the best answer in the world and they,ll pick some dumb answer as the best, and then come back on when the one don't work and wonder why, were not the only ones hooked on it either, there's more like us that do it,but the time consumption is a lot when you find a cure you let me know i want a shot of it also, good luck hope this helps.

You should keep checking the questions. Don't click the answer button unless the question is smart. You can determine the smartness by reading the question and measuring the question against a standard question that is right on the threshold of being a stupid question.

my best answer to you would be "well we could waste hours performing this exercise of unfounded speculation, or you could come in and well check the problem out"

lol... i guess you should just have a universal answer "bring it in and i'll check it out" simple as that...
I dont understand why a lot of people thinks mechanic can fix a car or computer over the phone...

It is because you care. And in you heart you wont to be able to help them. Set a time to be on the computer and when your time is up stop. that way you will be able to work on the cares and on the computer.

I dunno..
Maybe you should bring your brain in to the shop for a diagnostic ($75 fee, applied to repairs if you choose to have them done here).
