I found one of the spark plug wires laying on the headers burnt in to and replaced all of them but to no avail still missing,will set and idle all day and never go dead,never go dead while driving but missing,drops rpm,hesitates,driving me crazy!

I had a ranger that did the same thing.... check the TPS (throttle position sensor) and the mass air flow and air temperature sensors chances are its your TPS or the wiring to it.

hmmm...
Try replacing spark plugs and cap and rotor, the air filter, an oil and filter change probably wouldn't hurt, and the O2 sensor comes to mind as well, oh yes fuel filter, and for a few more dollars do the pcv valve and the breather cap as well.

Check the fuel filter. This happened to me years ago with a Ford van...
