I have a 2006 mitsubishi eclipse and I got tagged in a parking lot somewhere I have no idea because of all the snow covering the damage. I have to replace my hood and front bumper. If I can use a carbon fiber hood it will actually save me money if I buy it off ebay and install it myself. How durable is carbon fiber? The only worry I have is snow and ice here in VA. I'd hate to buy it and something happen with the ice. What would I need to put the hood on? It should have all holes drilled and everything else right?
Thanks

Could the abrasions be buffed out? They are on the bottom/ rear side on the part that is kind of hard plastic (not exactly metal).
I wasn't sure if you could actually buff out streaks on that material.

Has problems starting after that its been warmed up, or driven around. In the morning it starts fine, but if I go run some errands and start the car up again, its starts and then turns off, the only way that it'll stay on is if I press on the accelorator a bit, and even then sometimes it'll turn back off. Someone told me that it could be the crank shaft sensor. Could anyone tell me if that could be the problem or what else it could be. Thanks.

When I start my car, it makes a squealing sound, and kind of sounds like a ton of bats leaving a cave. It then stops after I get going, about 10-15 seconds later. The car is a 2002 Hyundai Elantra and just went over 61000 miles. I think it may be the timing belt, but I wanted to get an idea of what others may think before I take it in. Thanks.

I' m going to buy a truck, a Chevrolet Silverado (Year 2000), it' s 8 cylinder, but I' m not sure because I' m scare to spend a lot money in gas. A 8 cylinder spend a lot more of gas than a 6 cylinder or the difference is not so big????

My 1991 Chevy s10 won't start despite showing all signs of WANTING to fire! The engine IS turning over. I have checked all the basics too; Fully charged battery, spark plug leads are sparking when grounded, fuel line leaks when I loosen it, all belts are in good repair and moving, I replaced the spark plugs for good measure as well. I'm mechanically inclined but this one has got my hands tied. Anyone know the little things about an s10 that a new owner wouldn't? The previous owner told me that he had to apply gas when starting it in the past... I thought this to be an amature mistake. But was he onto something that I was taught early not to do?

I have an M reg Vauxhall Corsa and have noticed a kind of rattle noise coming from underneath the bonnet sometimes. I think it may be something loose, perhaps a pipe or something coming from the engine? It sometimes feels as if something may be hitting off of the pedals (or cables attached to the pedals).

I'm not very mechanical minded but does anyone have any idea as to what the problem is, and perhaps, roughly how much it would cost to fix?

Thanx in advance.

My 1.9 renault Traffic 02 van missfires on one or two cylinders when cold and bogs down untill you rev it hard with the clutch in . It then clears after a few seconds and then goes well. This problem can reoccur when cold a few times untill warm.It only started this problem recently. It then pulls well. It smokes a fair bit and doesnt burn any oil. Whats wrong - oil system needs bleeding , air leak ?????

When I do oil changes, should I use synthetic oil (5w30) or can I go with the generic normal oil? Does it matter?
