Btrix, this is the UK forum idiot!!
To check or renew the gear oil, get under the car and you will see 2 bolts on the gearbox, undo the top one when its cold and stick your finger and if the oil level reaches your finger its fine.
To change undo the bottom bolt and drain, put bottom bolt back in then using a gear oil filler top up to the level above.

Its on the end of the box rather than the side,with access from the n/s wheel arch.Takes a 13mm socket and extension to reach it! Hope this helps,

There is no filter on the gear box for that vehicle, gear box oil rarely needs changing, unless there is a leak I wouldn't worry
