Has problems starting after that its been warmed up, or driven around. In the morning it starts fine, but if I go run some errands and start the car up again, its starts and then turns off, the only way that it'll stay on is if I press on the accelorator a bit, and even then sometimes it'll turn back off. Someone told me that it could be the crank shaft sensor. Could anyone tell me if that could be the problem or what else it could be. Thanks.

There could be several different reasons why that is happening to your car. One reason is that you might have an overheating problem. When you start your car in the morning it wouldn't have that problem because it has to warm up. After you drive it around for a while and then you stop the engine is still hot so when you go to turn it on again its not dead cold and could easily overheat. If your engine gets too hot it will cause the gas vapors that are shot into the piston chambers to detonate too early or not at the right time. That would mess up your firing order and cause your engine to staul. That is a pretty easy fix. You just need to look for anti-freeze leaks in your hoses or the radiator. If its a leak in your engine block then its going to be a pain but thats not very common. Just look at your engine temperature gauge on your gauge cluster. If it is going past the middle then it is overheating.

Another reason for the problem might be that you don't have enough fuel pressure to deliver the required amount of fuel to the engine. That is why if you press on the gas a little more it would force more fuel to the engine. If that is the case you might need to replace your fuel pump or fuel pressure regulator. Or you might have to replace your fuel injectors. Since its a Honda you probably only have four fuel injectors. Or you might have a dirty clogged up fuel filter. Replace it if that is the case.

Another reason for the problem might be that the sensors on the engine might be bad. It could be the crank shaft sensor, throttle position sensor, idle air control valve, map sensor, etc.

Another reason for the problem might be the EGR valve if youi have one. The EGR valve lets some exhaust gas back into the intake manifold to be reused and ignited. If the valve is stuck open it would let too much exhuast gas into the intake causing your car to staul. If that is the case, replace the EGR valve.

Like I said, there are several different possible reasons why you are having this problem. If your check engine light is on it can be easier to find the problem because you can plug in an onboard diagnostic computer to your car that would generate a trouble code. Once you have the code you can look it up in a diagnostic trouble code book and it would tell you exactly what the problem is. From there you could proceed to fix it.

The problem sounds electronic, you will need to go an engine management specialist to check if the engine management unit is the problem (don't go to main dealer if you don't want to be fleeced, look in yellow pages for local specialist, much cheaper and probably a better job). Also, when did you have new spark plugs, ht leads, rotor arm, air filter etc. (check air filter any way as restricted air flow can cause stalling at low revs) If all of these are quite new, then it probably is E.M.U. Good luck.

If you don't have a Check engine light on I wouldn't imagine it being a sensor.

It sounds more like a vacuum leak type of problem. Open the hood look around at all the hoses, especially near intake, for loose, cracked or hoses that have completely slipped off their fittings. Just make sure you check them all even the tiny ones going to things like the EGR valve.

It could be that, but I have a 99 Accord (coupe) and remember that there was a recall for the starter some years back. You may want to check with a certified Honda technician or call a Honda dealership and just ask one of the service advisors if they know of anything. Good luck.
