I have a 1998 Plymouth Neon. The battery was just replaced 4 weeks ago by an auto technician. Now, my car won't start. It makes a low buzzing noise when I try to start it. My lights come on bright, my radio comes on... everything works except the engine won't turn over. Could it be my starter or something smaller and less expensive??

Hi, I have a 1996 Honda Civic LX. A few weeks back I was driving my car to work one day and my low oil light came on. I figured I could still go a few more miles on the little bit of oil my car had left. Guess I was wrong! On the way home, all of a sudden my car started knocking really bad. That night I checked the oil and it was bone dry; I filled the motor back up with oil and left it alone for the night. The next day I got up and started to head into town but my car would not start! One last thing, my car started smoking really bad when I was on the way home from work the first day! If anyone could tell me what they think is wrong I would greatly appreciate. It would also be helpful to know what new parts to buy (Crankshaft probably) and how much they would cost plus labor. Thanks! Anthony.

I recently purchased new tires for my truck and the old tires were P265/75/R16 and I had them replaced with LT265/75/R16. I'm just curious what the difference is.

I can tell whatever is squeaking is associated with the rotation of the tire. It squeaks in rhythm according to how fast I'm going... so at about 30 mph it sounds like theres a cricket chirping in my wheel well. I thought it was the wheel bearings but I have been told more than once the wheel bearing would make a grinding noise, not a chirp, if it was going bad. I took the tire off and there are no visible problems.
This is a 93 ford T-bird if that helps.

is it possible to replace these hoses by yourself using a chilton's manual, without having to either pull the engine much less end up putting it in the shop? my husband isn't sure he can get to the parts since the engine is so compact.

You ever come across a situation where you know even a layman would have more common sense than to design a product a certain way?

Like my Jeep Cherokee. Did you know that you can’t change the radiator coolant without taking off the car’s front grill? The drain plug is behind the front grill, for God’s sake! Was this designed this way because of a lack of common sense or did they do this as some sort of twisted insider joke? Duh! Aren't drain plugs supposed to be at the bottom of the radiator and within easy reach from under the car?

Care to share some of your experiences with design oddities and missteps?
