It will fit, and I have seen it done a few times in the past. You will have to modify the engine mounts, possibly cut out a little shock tower and make a little room at the firewall by bending some sheetmetal, and it is best to not have to set up an engine management system, if you are looking for more power and less headache, it is easier to go with a carb setup and non-computer controlled ignition.

It is difficult if you don't know what you are doing and if you don't I would suggest going to someone who does know how to put one in or a mechanic shop can do it for a lot of money or there are books that can walk you through it but you will most likely need a welder.

It's doable -- but you will still have Ranger with a V8 when you are done. You will probably save money by just buying a bigger truck.

THIS CAN BE A DIFFICULT JOB BECAUSE YOU NEED TO MODIFY THE FRAME AND YOU NEED THE PROPPER BELL HOUSING. IF YOU DO A SEARCH FOR 4CYL-V8 OR 6CYL - V8 CONVERSIONS YOU CAN FIND A COMPANY I BELIEVE THERE NAME IS JET PERFORMANCE BUT NOT POSITIVE. YOU WILL FIND THE COMPANY AND ALL THEY DO IS MAKE THE PARTS TO MAKE V8 CONVERSIONS AS EASY AS POSSIBLE. I DID A 502 IN AN S10 USING THERE PRODUCTS IT WAS FAST AND USER FRIENDLY. TOOK ABOUT 5 HOURS TO DO THE MODIFYING

easy, I have stuffed a 289 and a 302 in two different nissan P/U's.
Time and $$ guy. and a couple dinged up knuckles.

Not too hard, you will have to make motor and tranny mounts as well as other mods.
