Not all oil pans are created equal. Some are extruded sheet metal, others are cast aluminum.
An aluminum oil pan will crack if it's hit by debris, a steel pan will be more forgiving, but can still get a hole in it.
If you have an oil leak, best to get it to a trusted mechanic to inspect and advise.
Unless you like getting dirty . . . then you can clean it off yourself and see where your drip is coming from.
If you recently had an oil change, the grease monkey may have let debris get in the way when he screwed on the oil filter, that would leak. He might have cross-threaded the oil pan drain screw, that would leak. He might have just spilled oil when trying to fill it. That would leak, but not for more than a couple of days.
You don't want to run your engine dry of oil, it's best to get this fixed sooner rather than later.

Observe the oil slick under front of car. However (if not real large),-it may just be a leaky gasket too! Get somebody foolish enough to do so - to get under car and see if any of the "pan-bolts are loose", moderate tightening of all the bolts could solve the problem. If the pan is not all "banged up" it is probably just a minor leak? There is a product called "no-leak" that you can put in the engine oil, and it will "clot up" in the leaks and stop them. Available in lots of places where auto maintainance products are sold, - including Wal-Mart. Do only one treatmernt per oil change though (change oil before you make anther try.) If this doesn't stop it, you are going to need auto shop repair.

Check the pan on the bottom of the engine, if it's leaking oil from a break or crack in this pan, then you have a problem.

you loose oil during operation of vehicle, constantly replacing it; Put a piece of paper under the car where the oil pan is located. See if it is soaked in oil, then you know for sure.

the oil pan on the bottom of your cars engine holds all the motor oil, sometimes the seal may wear out that bolts it on to the motor or sometimes if you drove over something real high and solid you could puncture a hole in it,,there would be oil,oil everywhere under your car should either thing arise

One way to tell is if there is oil spots in your driveway underneath the oil pan. Check the gasket to see if it's worn.
