you will have to put spacers or washers under the power steering bolts until you get it lined up correctly.

First make sure the crankshaft pulley hasn't moved on the rubber and the harmonic ballancer is not shot. Then back in the stone ages when mechanic used rocks to repair old trucks. make sure the front and back bolts are properly tightened and the three bolts holding the brackets to the cyl head are all still in there. And the rod that cross braces the pump to a bolt behind by the exhaust manifold. Use a brand new Gates Green Stripe Or Dayco Top cog belt. Good Luck

if you didnt take the pump off it should go back on the crank pulley has 3 grooves in it make sure you are in the right one if it is the pump that is out of line you need to shim it out

if all you yook off was p/s belt it should have gone back on -but- if you removed other belts like waterer pump. you maybe trying to put belts back on wrong stand to the side of the truck and line up 1 of your eyes with the p/s pully and see what other pully is in line w/ it or look up in chilton book

they have given you the wrong pump,,there are two different pumps for a Chevy,,one called short shaft,,and one a long shaft,,your uses the other one,,this is why its doing this,,you,ll have to take it back,,and exchange it for the right one,,i own a repair shop,,and have ran across this a lot of times,,just get the right one,,and it will work fine,,good luck with it,,i hope this help,s.
