I recently purchased new tires for my truck and the old tires were P265/75/R16 and I had them replaced with LT265/75/R16. I'm just curious what the difference is.

P is a passenger veh. tire.
LT is a light truck tire.

LT should have more plies and allow a greater inflation pressure which will let you safely handle more load

P is a passenger car tire.
LT is a light truck tire
The P series will ride better and the LT will have better grip
If it is a truck be sure and not to haul heavy loads for long distances
