Every once in a while my car will start doing this thing where it will not shift into a higher gear so the car only goes about 35mph and the engine sounds like it just needs to shift. When it starts to do it i can pull over and put the car in reverse and it will kinda jump back and then i can put it back into drive and it will work fine. Does anybody know what could be causing this and what needs to be fixed? Thanks.

I have a 94 Civic. When the A/C is on sometimes I feel the compressor kick off and then back on. I can tell because I can hear it and feel it in the power of the car. So, today I turned it on, and I heard it kick off and felt hot air blow out of the vents while the A/C button was still engaged. I push the A/C button off then again. The air start blowing cold then a couple of minutes later it the compressor kicks off and the air is hot again!Does any one know what's happening? Thanks

I have a 89 chevy 1/2 ton 4x4 with a few mods done to it. not really the serious offroad truck but it does see its use. i have rebuilt the rear end (10 bolt) three times due to poor work from a shop 1 time and twice from mechanical failure. I have killed it again with my stupidity of using it as a tractor. I want a strong bolt in with 4.56 gears and still be able to run my six lug wheels since they are new and fairly expensive. I am running 35 14.50 tires on it and do know that it is not the best for the truck. any help for some good companies to check into will be greatly appreciated.

I have an '89 Saab 900 with a standard transmission and it does not specify in the owners manuel what fluid must be used to fill up the "gear box oil" reservoir. I have heard that transmission fluid might not be necessary but rather brake fluid or something else. Does anyone know what I should fill it up with?

How can I determine if the engine in the truck I'm looking at is genuinely a 327 and not a 350 or 305. All I can look at is the exterior of the motor.

At the only store I had access to at the time, automatic transmission fluid was the only available supplement I could find to fill up the empty reservoir in my standard transmission car. Does anyone know if this fluid will suffice until I can get standard transmission fluid, or will it ruin my car?
