me and a buddy recently put head gaskets on a car went through the whole process you know new bolts heads shaved new gaskets you know all the good stuff we been fixing cars for a long time and never ran into this problem after putting the car together we started to see the coolient system wasent right. now the car has never over heated it will build up air when sitting for a long period of time then you need to bleed the system after reseaching we found out there was a misprint with the torque specs for the head bolts (not our fault) ive never ran into this problem so can you put the torque wrench on them and tighten them to the right specs or will the heads have to come off be checked and replace the bolts any answers

I sent my car to be repaired for transmission problems- i got a whole new transmission - took the car out of town and car breaks down - have to have the car towed back through 4 states back to mechanic who then says its not his fault and nothing is wrong. Took to another mechanic who says the transmission pipe is put in backwards causing the transmission case to crack and causing leaking, etc. I ended up shelling out a total of $5500 to fix the first time and then to have it towed and then to have it fixed again. Any answers on how i can recover from my mechanic and his repair shop.

i have mag wheels that haven't been used for quite awhile. I would like to try and restore some of their old luster. They were sitting in my cellar completely exposed to the climate.
Any help would be very much appreciated.

I have a leak in my fuel tank. However, it only leaks when my tank is more than half full. There is no problem when it is half full or less. Is it dangerous for me to continue to drive it as long as I keep the tank below half?

Has anyone used SLICK 50 or another PTFE-based product in their car, and gotten great results (ie, like 400,000 miles on an engine)??

I've heard that the PTFE products leave a film behind, which over time COULD theoretically cause problems long-term, with repeated use. But that might just be hot air.

I also have a friend that swears by Lucas, puts some in with every oil change. Opinions?

This morning I go out to my car and it chose to act out on me. 2000 Daewoo Nubira.

Odd sound possibly from resonator?

As soon as I turned it on, it started shaking and almost like it was bouncing. The check engine light also came on too. I put it in reverse to see if that may work, but it still was shaking. I then put it in drive and gave a little gas, no result, so I put it back in park and now have no idea what to do.

It does seem to be coming from the engine area. Also, there is no way I could afford to go to a mechanic right now.

I did try driving it (not too far though) and it still does shake when driving.

The light is a constatant, no blinking. My husband checked for a hissing and he says there is none.

The guy at AutoZone said it should be alright to drive in, but with any problem I get so nervous and I am not sure about whether or not it is alright to drive even the three miles to AutoZone.

(I asked this earlier and still confused as to what it could be)

Several months ago my Escape stranded me. It wouldn't start. I just got a clicking sound. I tried starting it repeatedly until someone came to get me. My hubby went back later that night to get the car and it started up fine for him. Now, yesterday it did it again. When I try to start it I get lights, radio, windows, etc. but it won't turn over, just clicks. Hubby gave me a jump and it took about 5 min before it would start. I drove it around for 15 min. and stopped at a store. When I went to leave, I got the clicks again. Hubby came and jumped me. It started right up. I drove it for 35 min and then went home. This morning I was once again greeted by clicking.

There is a cylindrical 'decoration' right inside of the lugnuts on my car that is quite rusty. It is chrome plated and I don't know how to clean it. Also, the lugnuts are rusty too, any suggestions on how to clean them?
