I bought the truck used and can not afford to put it into the shop for a tune up. Any info that any one can give would be great. Thanks

you can substitute the spark plugs but the wires should be readily available at any quto parts store.

There are no spark plug wires. Each spark plug has its own coil on top secured by a 7mm or 9/32 bolt. Make sure to check that the heater hose clamp is tight at the back. These trucks were notorious for having coolant leaking from this connection on top of #4 coil, causing an engine miss. Hope this helps. Good luck.

There are no wires. Each spark plug has its own ignition coil. 8 in your case. the coils are are bolted to the valve cover and the stem goes down the center of the valve cover to the spark plug. The fuel rail sits just over each coil and looks difficult to get to but it IS NOT bad to do. unplug each coil. 1 bolt holds each coil in and once they are loose you can twist them almost anywhere to get them out. A big problem with this setup in fords is that the boots that connect the coil to the spark plug go bad from all the heat. They will tend to misfire. I would really replace them while you're doing the plugs. use some dielectric grease upon reassembly so the new boots dont stick to the plugs.

Is this a diesel truck? Diesel trucks don't have spark plugs or wires. If not a diesel it's probably got coil on plug ignition which means there's no wires and the plugs are located under the coil packs.

Have you tried www.jcwhitney.com?
Try Napa, Auto Zone, O'Reiley's, or Pep Boys? I do not know where you are located. Look in the yellow pages under automotive repair. I hope that this helps.

Do you mean you can't find them on the engine, or they are not available at the parts stores??
