Ok I'll ask any mechanic................and the answer is negative first. Even when specifically doing airbag repairs, factory manuals still state, you guessed it. Negative first.

Disconnect the ground first. Usually that is the negative. Some older cars, like the Nash and Hudson, had positive grounds. So by disconnecting the ground first, you would be disconnecting the positive first.

its ground first, not because of frying modules, but because if you slip with the wrench and touch the body and the hot (or positive) battery terminal you dont spark and ignite any hydrogen gases coming from the battery.

Sorry But you always do the POSITIVE 1st otherwise it can blow the main fuse or turn the air bag light on, ask any mechanic
