yes actually it could,,i own a repair shop,,and we do it all here,,but the brake business would be a good thing to specialize in,,and the amount of schooling needed would be less then what i had to go through believe me ,,but you could make it good just doing brakes, but there are a lot of tools needed, and every car that comes out seems they require more new tools to work with and technology now days is the key to success seems like, you have to stay updated on all the newer cars that comes out as well as any re-calls on any vehicles,as well as any factory defects that you might run in to,,but yes you could make it,,and make a good honest living doing it,,and its not bad work,,sometimes i put in ,more hours than i should,,but owning your own business requires that sometimes,,best of luck if you decide to pursue it,,i hope this help,s.

When you work on brakes you are taking other peoples lives into your hands.

YOU HAD BETTER KNOW WHAT THE HELL YOU ARE DOING BOY!

small amount of schooling/exp = small amount of wisdom/understanding/brains/responsibility/respect for people with lots of schooling/exp.

It is people like you who give mechanics a bad name.

Your lack of knowledge will be the reason people will call you a crook.

Simply put you will not be excused just because you don't know any better.

You may not be a responsible person, but the public will hold you responsible none the less.

Yes you can, but that is not really the question.
Lets say you do a break job and the breaks go out for some reasion. The person can hold you for any repairs as well as any damage you caused.
I am not saying you cant do the job, but like me you better carry heavy insurance.
My shop has had things like this happon, but I have never been accused of my shop being at fault.

Hope this helps
