Last night I was backing out of my friends driveway and as i was turning my wheel i bumped into a parked car parked on the opposite side of the street. It was a very bad place to be backing up, with low visibility all around. I did some damage to his his car nothing major. I was only going about 6mph. We made a police report and everything. He has Michigan no fault insurance. I have full coverage. He had an old 1989 jalopy. I have an 07 Acura Rdx. He basically told me he doesn't care about his car but he wants to get the most out of me he can get. He kept saying he bet he could get 4grand out of me. I know Michigan is a no fault state and that each person is liable for their own damages. But how exactly does this work with his car being parked and not having full coverage? Will my insurance pay? Would they only pay up to the amount his car is worth?

I recently got a used car, and I'm confused about how to get the license plate for it. The papers that we received when we bought the car say that once you get some information (sorry, I can't remember what kind...) in the mail, it is your responsibility to pick up the plate yourself. However, I was reading some other questions on here, and they say that you wait to get the plate in the mail. If I do have to pick it up myself, where do I go? I live in Georgia, if that makes a difference. The temporary tag expires on the 29th, so I'm kind of in a rush to get this figured out.

My car was parked and hit by another car which was stolen. My insurance company called me yesterday and said that because the people that hit my car were not the authorised drivers, they're aren't going to push for the other owners insurance company for liability. I wasn't there when the accident happened. So it certainly wasn't my fault. Can they do that? in that case whats the point in having insurance when they seem to screw you over in any event?

They were so slow that I had to get the police report for them. My excess alone is £420!! Help!

Well, soon I will be taking taking the test so I can get my learner's permit. I was just wondering whether anyone knew the format for the test, and the types of questions i should expect. I've been studying a lot, and I'm sure I will pass. Thanks in advance!

My sons mother and I are going to court over our son and part of the order states that the child must be driven by someone who carries insurance. At one time she lived in an apartment with her mother and had insurance on March 18th, but on April 15th her insurance was canceled. On May 28th she stated she was moving out on her own, but she really lives in a one bedroom with her mother and my son, she refuses to show me insurance so I called the police, they say that the registered owner has insurance so my son could go as long as the grandmother was driving. I released my son and when the police left the grandmother exited from the drivers side and my sons mother got back in the drivers sit. How do I prove she has no insurance?

Hi there,
I recently insured my car and it's my first month of driving my car but I have no idea at all where we can park and where we can't as we never really learned this in driving lessons.

Can someone please give me an advice where we can park and where we cannot. What are the things i need to be careful of and all those information I need to avoid all those tickets and fines, penalties etc.

I am sure there are lots of drivers who never had a fine or penalties in their life.

Thank you very much for taking your time to read this.

Cheers

I'm aware is an offence, but I was wondering how would the insurance company become aware of this? They ain't going to keep watch of whose driving the car are they?? Sounds like big brother if they do!

I recently took my car to a mechanic I usually go to who has his own shop at his home. I took my 2005 Honda EX to have some breaks change. The mechanic told me to come by before 4 pm to pick up the car because he was going to mexico for 3 weeks and no one will be home. So I took it for granted he would wait for me but he didn't got there 2 hours late. I see my car in his driveway with the gates lock can I go in and get my car or will I have to wait until he comes which I know he will

What I mean is... when the officer pulls you over and says "license and registration"... what documents, exactly, does he need? Driver's license and insurance card, duh. But does he need to see my title for my car? my paperwork from when i licensed my car? I'm just figuring out what to keep with me and what I can keep in my files in my house... because I don't actually want to keep any more personal files in my car than I have to. Thanks.

In California, during the first year of your license, if you are in a accident with a passenger under the age of 25 (not permitted by law) is the accident automatically your fault even if the accident was obviously caused by the other person? Like if you got rear ended?
