My car was parked in the street and a lady backed into my car. The base of the car seat was in the car. We filed a claim with Liberty Mutual and they say that the car seat only needs to be replaced if the collision happenend over a certain speed. We were not in the car, nor did we see the collision so we have no idea of the speed. All we know is that the estimate to get our car fixed is $1,800. The owner's manual of my car seat says that the car seat should be replaced after a collision. We also called the manufacturer and they said that since the base of the seat was in the car at he time of the collision that all the warranties associated with the base have been voided. I have already bought a new base but I think the insurance company should re-imburse me. Am I right?

My friend is British and owns property there, but is not a resident. He has found the DVLC Website and is intending to apply online, but would first like to clarify the above question. Thanks for your help.

If someone cosigns for a car loan (for a college student) and then that college student driver gets in an accident that results in a law suit...

1) Is the cosigner at risk to lose their assets if the "college student driver" has no assets??

Or...

2) Are the parents of the college student the party which is at risk??

Does an Umbrella Insurance Policy need to be taken out by the co-signer or the parents of the driver?

Please only answer if you really know or have had experience with such. Thanks.

I was just getting out of school today and I had missed my bus. I called my mom and asked her to come get me. When she picked me up we started home and I was telling her about my day. She hit the breaks to stop and she reended another car while I was talking. I told her to tell the police that I was the one driving and to tell the insurance company that it was me that was driving not her. Now I feel guilty and that it was all my fault. Why am I feeling this way
Now I feel like I dont deserve to ride in a car. I dont deserve my permit, and I dont deserve to get a red 4x4 red four door truck.

I live in NY state...I was involved in a minor accident recently. The police report assigned no fault to either party. Essentially, it is a he said/she said case. I did not file a claim since the damage to my vehicle is so incredibly minor. However, the other party did.

What would happen if my insurance co. assigns equal fault to each party? Will I have to pay anything out?

Ok so i got into a wreck on the 27th of july. It was her fault, she even admitted it and it says so on the police report. On the police report it had the insurance info so i called them filed a claim and had to wait a week just to find out they had canceled their insurance with that company. So i called the "guilty party" and asked them what they were planning on doing. They said that they had already switched insurance, so i got that info, called that company and made a claim. 2 days later they tell me that the "guilty party" purchased the insurance 11 days after the accident. What i want to know is how the heck do i get them to fix or replace my car?! My coverage is liability only so i don't think my company will help at all. I'm 34 weeks and 2 days pregnant and have no car. These jerks are just toying with me. I'm about to have a baby and i'm not gonna have a car. Can they get away with this? Am i screwed? (nothing rude please)

If it wasn't too big of a deal just a bit of a bump can it still be claimed on the insurance so that it would be covered if you don't file a police report.

Hi, my car was stolen from a repair shop that I had left overnight for maintenace work. I say they are negligent for not securing the keys. I filed a claim through their insurance and through my insurance thinking mine would go after them and give me a fair price for what I payed, not the current market value. I heard about the arbitration. Any suggestions on steps I can take to recover more money? plus why should I pay the deductible? Shouldn't I receive money from both insurances? I also incurred other expenses, I had to spend money on notaries, lost time from work, gas money making all these trips for the investigators etc.
Thank you very much for any advice.

I had full coverage on my car, but I had not listed her as a driver yet. She was not excluded on my policy. The driver in front of her slammed on her brakes and my daughter hit her in the rear end. The driver got out and started to beat up my daughter. Will my insurance cover the damages?

This morning a man walked by and his forearm bumped the driver's rearview mirror. At first we thought he broke it. We got his personal information in case we need to get in touch with him again.

But a small bump is probably not going to loosen/break (it's kind of barely hanging on) the rearview mirror.

Either a.) it was broken when we got the car but nobody noticed.

or b.) somebody hit the mirror while it was parked.

Should I be honest and tell the rental agency about it? Or hope they won't notice?

I feel stuck because if I say something, I could get charged. Even if it was already broken when we took it, how can we prove that?

What should I do?

Ok.. this guy wrecked in my car at his house, and about four people saw it. At first he didn't even say anything until he was confronted about it. Said he would pay for everything just to get a quote, well it turned out to be pretty expensive. Now he is saying he'll only pay for 60% of it. Is that possible? If I take him to court could I win? Since I have witnesses.

I only had £100 on me and the guy in the office said the damage wouldn't come to that. He took the money and said they would refund the difference so I would only pay the actual cost. Now I've received a letter from their head offer saying that if I don't pay the £400 extra to make up the excess they will take me to court. I think £500 is a bit much for cosmetic damage. So what do I do?

Ok. Im really confused with my car loan I have. My car insurance was cancelled and they said I have to pay 1800.00 on my premium. I got nervous about my actual car loan I had out on that car. But they would have to put insurance on my car which was going to be very expensive until I could get full coverage back Now I have recieved a letter of default from the company???? My payments are up to date i am only late 3 days by 170.00 my reg payment is 364.00 so I dont understand why I am at defualt

I was involved in a 3 car collision. I was hit in the rear and due to the impact, I hit the vehicle in front of me. Police report also states that I was not at fault. I have a $2000 dedeuctible. Should I approach my own insurance company to pay for the repairs or should I approach the vehicle who is at fault to pay for it? What are the pros and cons? Will my insurance premium increase if I go through my own insurance company.?
