my parked car. It;s an old best extremely kwell kept Honda Civic with revbuilt engine now only 102,000 miles on the engine.

That was 7 weeks ago and I have YET ro receive a written offer from them in settlement despiute three times faxing documents and police reports since 7-13. They claim that my company still might be partially liable. It's ludicrous, and the 93 year old had zero muscles tone, probably on all sorts of old people medications s the past many years, and basically lost control on a sloped street or fell asleep.

How can I get this moving, or what options do I have, because it's costing me to insure this car to sit in the street, and I do not have anywhere to store it. It';s not drivable. They declared it a total loss, and yet, this '88 car would cost me 1600- 2000 at a dealers in worse condition than mine.

I'm thinking about changing to them 'cause of the cheap rates. Is it worth going "cheap" ? How are they on claims ? Service ?
Action ? Dependability ?

Co worker bought a 2001 VW Jetta GLX for his son last week at Washington DC for $7700 (The car has DC plate and title and He paid with a cashier’s check). When he went to the Virginia DMV(where he lives) to register this car the DMV told him this car was a salvaged car(car was in a serious car accident 3 years ago and it was rebuilt), therefore they cannot register this car until the VA DMV inspect the car and pass the test, if not he needs to make necessary repairs until it passes). They asked the seller if the car was involved in accidents before and seller only said someone rear ended him couple weeks ago and got a new bumper, the seller failed to disclose about the salvage issue. My question is what can he do now? Seller refuse to take car back, can my co worker sue? If so at DC court or VA court? Please help.

Should men be discriminated against? (Car insurance)
How about blacks because BEING black is more likely though not necessarily going to have you live in a high crime neighborhood? (home owners insurance)

And here's the most extreme I've seen to date:

It doesn't matter whether I am get the big end or the little end of the stick, it doesn't seem right to me. I can understand changing insurance rates on the basis of past driving record, but for probable future record?

this is what happened, in January my husband sold a vehicle that was under my name and of course he reported it to the DMV, in March we recvd a ticket with a picture of the new owner crossing a red light, my husband called them and they said they were going to pay and register the vehicle to their names, so now in August I recvd a notice saying I had to showed up in court in July and because I didn't I have to pay like $600.00 I called the number provided and told them that I didn't know of this and that this ticket wasn't mine, the new owners asked for an extention and they fail to pay, now I have to waste my time, take time off work and appear in court and show the judge all my proof that I'm innocent. I'm really upset we did what we were suppose to according to the DMV is not fair that now they are holding me responsible to clear all this mess. Anything I can do in court or to the people that we sold this vehicle to?

I'm turning 25 at the end of August, and my insurer has told me they are canceling my current policy on 8/27 if I do not pay today. That's fine with me, because my premium is so high right now due to 4 at-fault accidents on my record (& the fact that I live in an expensive-insurance zip code). Two of those accidents come off my record starting in September, and due to that and my age change I'm thinking my insurance would come down $800-$1000 less than the premium I'm paying now for 6 months (over $2000). The penalties accrued in my state amount to $175 for re-registration of an uninsured vehicle, and I figure if I go to the DMV right away with my new insurance card, explaining that I did not drive my car between 8/27 and 9/1 (or whenever my new policy starts), I can get away without any additional court fees or tickets on my record. But I'm wondering what the insurers will think if I try to sign up for insurance without any preexisting. Do they penalize (with rate hikes) for this?

My license was suspended for 1 year after I was involved in an accident without any insurance. My car was totaled in that accident. Since I had no license after that, I figured I'd hold off on getting another one until I had my license back. Now that I am eligable to get it reinstated, I discovered on the California DMV website that in order to do so I will need to pay the $125 fee as well as show proof of insurance. Is it even possible to get auto insurance without an automobile????

Am i worrying about nothing....

i had a car accident today, the side of my car was hit by a driver pulling out of a side street and they said they didn't see me.

1) It seems as though she will accept liability (i don't see how she could refuse liablity as only the side of my car and her front of hers is damaged and i sure as hell didn't slide the side of my car into the front of hers, lol!). Is there anyway she could try to blame me?

2) my insurance is up for renewal in the next 3 weeks, as this is not my fault (however it is not yet set in stone) and if they do accept liability is my insurance going to be affected in anyway, making it more costly?

please help... i am really worried (i'm a natural born worrier)!!!

I hate the fact that its LAW that you have to have Insurance
and Registration.

and do they really need to charge such a high fee to put your name in a goddamn computer???

Some of us cant afford to insure our cars, wtf are we supposed to do? Oh right...we are fined and have our
license taken away, i mean that makes alot of sense,
fine a person who is already so poor they cant afford
car insurance...aghhhhggghhh!!!!!

Is it like this in all states?

I recently changed my car insurance, on reciving the paper work I sat and read it through. I came across the question are you tea total? to which the answer had been set as yes. Well I'm not ( I drink with in the recomended guide lines) and I didn't recall having been asked this question when I applied ( and no I had not been drinking when I applied).
This was not the only question I had not been asked but the other answers happened to be correct. I rang up and poited this out and was told oh its ok thats the default answer, no explanation was given as to why it wasn't asked and my premium did not go up as a result.
Had I not spotted this "error" and then had an accident whilst under the influence would the insurers have refused to pay out on grounds of a false claim on the proposal form?

Deleting or Adding a Name on a Title
When it comes to adding a name to a title, you must jointly apply, in person, at any DMV office for a new title certificate by completing an aptly named Application for Title. Bring proper identification and check, cash, or credit card to pay the $50 fee.

To delete a name, the person exiting the title must sign off. The remaining owner must then bring the title to any DMV office along with proper identification and the $50 fee.

I hope you can give me some advice on this! I live in California. My vehicles interior was vandalized, and while I know exactly who did it, I have no proof, and cannot take them to civil court to recover the repair costs. I have gone to my insurance company, and they say that the damage is worth more than the vehicle, and that they wish to declare it "salvage." I'm not sure what this means, but I am afraid it might give me
problems in the future, if not with my insurance rates, then possibly with registration fees, etc. The vehicle works perfectly and is of course safe to drive, the only damage is superficial and comsmetic; someone took a knife to the interior. I can easily spend $40 on carseat covers.
Can you tell me what kind of consequences I can expect if they declare this vehicle salvage? Also, why they are doing it, and if there is a way to stop it?

Okay, so my friend who crashed my car into the curb will be paying and he told his parents. He wants to, though, cover it with insurance and then his parents will pay if it's not possible. The repairs will be pretty price-y (The car hit the curb behind the front right tire so the entire right front side (07 civic -____-!) of the car bent upward/forward, the pieces behind the side mirror popped out with the movement, the black thing under the bumper came out and a buncha other crap too. And, the washer fluid did something funky.)
What is the most reasonable option: insurance or just cash?
