Hello, I currently reside in new York and a close relative of mine lives in Pennyslvania and essentially the laws do not allow somebody w/ a junior license to drive without a parent. He is 15 and going to be 16 soon, is this legal.

How are the laws of Pennsylvania?

with the permission of the owner.
But is it necessary for that other car to itself be insured itself. There is nothing in my insurance documentation to say that this is necessary.
(this is third party only insurance)

If this is the case, then surely I could get cheap insurance on a mini and drive my friends ferrari even if my friend cannot himself afford to pay for insurance for his ferrari.

I have no insurance, but if it is true that insurance covers the car, not the driver, would I be safe driving my friends' cars with their permission, despite the fact that I *personally* have no insurance? Is it also true that if I wreck their car, would their insurance company go after me personally, and sue me, when they would normally go after my own insurance if I had it?

I was involved in a 3 car collision, I was the car in the middle. I was hit first from the back and due to the impact my vehicle skid and hit the vehicle on my right lane as i turned my steering when i was hit being scared of the fact that i may injure my face. Now i am not at fault as per the police report, as i was hit first. But the insurance company of the guy who hit me is taking a really long time to investigate this and trying to make me the culprit in the situation. So did i do anything wrong by turning the stering to my right when i was hit. Am i responsible for damages to the front of my car? The traffic was heavy and i was about 3/4 th car distance away from the car in front of me. Any ideas about this issue?

My car tax needs renewing at the end of this month. However, I have just moved house and forgot to tell them in advance. Hence, the renewal notice has gone to the old address and I can't get it. Apparently there is a way you can tax a car as long as you have valid MOT and insurance without the renewal notice. The woman at the Post Office said it was a New Keeper's document or something. Is this right? What do they need from this document? Thanks for any help

We were wondering why UK personalised number plates are so expensive - I mean to say why would someone want to pay in excess of £200K for a personalised plate?
I assume companies like www.premierplates.co.uk have some of the answers but I would be interested in knowing if there are people that have any thoughts on this.

Here in PEI they say I have to return to Quebec to take the Alcofrein program, although they have an equivalent program here. I've lived in PEI since 2003. Quebec officials tell me I'm not obliged to return, that I can regain the licence here in PEI. Basically I have two completely opposite stories from each province, currently. Who is right? If there an ombudsman for this type of problem? Do I need a lawyer to resolve this?

I bought my house about a year ago and I see offers on TV (and the internet) for payments a lot less than mine and my house cost a lot less then the ones they use for examples. Are places like Countrywide and lowermybills.com legit?

I was backed out of a parking spot today when a lady backed out of her spot (really fast) and hit my car. We called the police and filed a report...he ruled no-fault since he couldn't prove it was her fault even though it was what he believed. We were able to fix the damage when we got home (it popped right back in). So here's my question. Do I have to call the insurance company or can I just ignore it? The lady had a small scratch on her car, nothing like ours.

I'm hoping to pass myself off as my mate while his on holiday, before you ask he is happy with all this, though has told me to drive carefully. If stopped by police if I tell them his details, show them the paper work apart from driving licence photocard (off-course), would they do other things e.g. take a picture of me etc..

I am driving my mom's car and have been for over a year and the tags are due in October. The tags are for California - and we have the car in Nevada and are moving to Denver.

How do we get the car smogged without going back to California? Can we get it smogged out of state and then just have them (my parents) send us the tags?

Can they get the car in our name with a transfer of title in California or do we have to be there to do it ourselves? Like can my dad fill out the transfer or title and have my mom sign my name or something, and get the title in my name and then I can sort it out when we move to Colorado?

What is the easiest solution here?
