By register I mean the DVLA-issued V5 document.
Obviously you would need tax, MOT, and insurance, but do you need a V5 to get any of these three?

Thanks

hi all
i have paided for my no claims to be protected '6 years' protected no claims.
my insurance renewal is now due in 2 weeks
today someone hit my car , so anyway the question is now that i have claimed on my insurance and its protected'this is the first time claiming'
when i am asked' by another insurance company if i renew somewhere else' if i have made any claims in the last 3 years or what ever, do i tell them, or does the proctected no claims mean i dont have to as it was protected so hence insurance does not go up ' you are allowed 2 claims in 3 years 'england'.
'does protected mean any claims made do not have to be counted as claims' ??

I recently bought a used 2007 from a dealership. When I went to the DMV to get it registered, they said that I was missing vital lein-release paperwork and that the title had not been signed correctly by the original owner. Without these corrections, both of which need a real signature (as opposed to fax or copy), they will not allow me to register the car. The problem is, I happen to know the guy now lives on the East Coast!

What recourse do I have against the dealership? As it stands, I am driving a car with an expired temp tag and no way to make it legal! So much for "experts in their field".

i see that females get lower rates for auto insurance, is this a sexest thing or are they better drivers?all of the the females i know, every single one of them, have been in at LEAST one accident some of them more then three a accidents yet i only know one male who has had an accident. and in all the accidents ive seen just around town it seems like more often then not it was women driving! could guys ACTUaLLY have an honest gripe for a change on this?! are we being discriminated against and being made to pay higher premiums because we tend to have more money statistically?!!! or are the girls just better drivers.

i live in queens, ny just got my drivers license 2 years ago at age 39. I've looked at car insurance and the rates are so high - one company gave me a quote of over $1000 a month, this was for a used car not even new. I looked at older car models and the insurance payments would actually exceed the cost of the car. does anyone have any suggestions besides moving out of new york state?

My girlfriend rear ended me, all her fault and she had full coverage and turned it in on her totaled car when it did minor damage to my bumper of my truck probably a 300-500$ fix and I'm scared of turning it in to her insurance from it raising hers because the damage doesnt really bother me but fixing it would be nice too

I live in Califnornia. My boyfriend was driving my car, and has a suspended lisence. My insurance has lapsed, and I haven't gotten new insurance yet. Today he was in an accident, him and the driver exchanged info, etc.

I'm wondering if the insurance company for the lady he hit is going to go after him or go after me for the damages - because I am the registered owner. My boyfriend tells me that they will go after him because he was driving, but my parents have told me that they will go after me because the vehicle is mine - my name, my car, my responsibility, etc.

I am confused by it all, and would just like to know what's going to happen!

Or maybe you are one already; i'm contemplating becoming one with the AA, and ultimately obtaining a franchise from them.

Good or bad idea, any info would be most welcome.

When I entered store parking lot - Big Company Truck Trailer was leaving parking lot – was already partially on the street – when I turned behind to get to the wood scrap. Then driver started to back/reverse – apparently he misjudged the turning radius. To me it was quite a shock to see this monster trailer backing to my side. I was pulling horn, screaming – he did not see me – did not hear me and hit me – dented the side of the truck ($2600 repair estimate). Only way for me to get out was to back up – more in fear and panic, than rational thinking - save myself - I backed up to the side of parked truck (third truck Chevy) causing ($1600 repair estimate damage). Damage to the rear of my truck (F150) was minimal and is not included. The Big Company Truck insurance is trying to minimize payment to my truck and does not want to cover the third truck at all. Would I have a case in the small court to ask the Big Company Truck insurance to pay for all the damage caused?

My car was purchased and registered in NJ. I am stationed in SC and i recently was told i need to put a plate on the front of my car. Now i know that you need to put 2 plates on when in NJ, but does that law apply for me down here too. If you can answer this question, please provide reasoning why your answer is correct?

on the insurance as second and/or third drivers because it cuts my premiums.
AS far as i know they are both insured fully comp on their own cars. If I have an accident whilst driving my own car, where I am insured as the main driver, will their ncb on their own insurances on their own cars be affected if I need to make a claim?
