Not additional insurance but rather add his name as a driver on the vehicle(s) covered by the policy.
Most auto insurance policies name individuals who live in the household as either excluded or included drivers. Most likely, your son is listed as an excluded driver. The carrier will probably charge you more premium.
Hope this helps.

You need to add him as a driver on your vehicle(s).
Think of this scenario: Your son is driving, and you are in the passenger seat. Your son hits someone. He is liable, and if he is not added to your policy, he can be charged with driving without insurance, even though there is insurance on the vehicle. Most of it depends on the state's requirements.
The choice of adding more insurance to your vehicle is up to you.

No, because you will be with him until he has his license. Once he gets a license and can drive unsupervised he will have to be added to your insurance, which will raise the premium.

yes he does need to be added to your policy,if he gets in an accident even with you in the vehicle they might not cover you,it would be a good idea to make sure he,s covered ,and if not get an extra policy on him, insurance company's have strict rules on these things ,good luck on it.

The coverage is on the automobile, not the motive force. you're able to be waiting to be on your mother and father' coverage for an exceedingly existence like fee. and you do in no way choose for to force without coverage.
