I live in MA, but goto college in FL. I plan to buy a car in Florida while I am down there, however Massachusetts requires a safety and emmisions test (FL does not offer it) so I am forced to register my car in Florida.
Can I register my car in Florida, and have a Massachusetts Insurence?

Well let me give you the background. I was in a car accident right after new years 2007. Hit from behind by three cars while I was stopped at a red light. Two of the drivers were found at fault by the police, and by their own insurance adjusters. I went to doctors and therapists and the injuries to my shoulder and neck were healed. They have paid me my deductible to get my car out of the shop and said they were going to pay me a settlement. They have already settled with my sister(passenger). They were ready to settle with me but I got a laywer b/c of the games they were playing with me. Is there some law once my laywer sends in the paperwork to settle that says they have such and such days to settle? I thought they had 30 days leagally I may be wrong, does anyone know? Also what do you think they might settle for, so far my medical bills are 5,000, plus my rental and car repair which totals about 8,000. I just want this to be over!!!

Thanks, B

I live in New Jersey, I recently recieved my examination permit and my road test for the provisional license is in january. I'm currently 17, but a few weeks after my road test, it'll be my brithday. Can I skip the provisional license all together and just wait until I'm 18 for a basic driver's license? I'm asking because I understand that the Provisional license has many requirements that I would like to avoid (for example, the number of passengers in the car). Thanks in advance.

Well, in December I drove up to Virginia in a car that I was basically buying from a friend. We were going to get everything switched over when I got back but I needed the car then, and on the way back I hydroplaned on the interstate in the middle of a big storm at 4 in the morning and slammed into a guardrail which bounced me back out into the middle of the interstate. I pulled the hazards and got out of the car right before another wave of traffic went around me, but one of the cars in that wave hit my car and knocked the battery off of it, leaving it a hunk of metal in the middle of the interstate. Now its been 8 months and now me and the guy I bought the car from (i still had to pay for it of course) are geting sued for $16,000 and he had insurance on the car and I had liability, He thinks it'll get turned onto his insurance company and his premium will go up, but I'm worried, I'm 19 years old and having a kid that's going to be born in a week or two from my 17 year old fiance.

A car is left at an apartment complex over 2 years ago when the tenants move. Acouple of months later the car is towed. the towing company sometime later sells the car in an auction. Now two years later the towing company wants storage and towing fees.
The registered owners never received any notice of any sort, never renewed registration, and never tried to recover vehicle.

What action can/will the wrecker service take?

Are there any possible legal ramifications?

Is there a period of time the wrecker service has to wait before the car is considered officially abandoned and can be auctioned?...

I have lived in Indiana most of my life and I know people who drink and drive and even get busted but yet they still do it. I know live in Illinois and you get caught DWI you get your license suspended and you surrender your plates which is good this stops them from driving. Well I personally believe in this 100% Just because I'm a victim of a drunk driver and barely made it. I had friends who died because of a drunk driver but yet they don't have a license but they still drive and If you surrender there plates it will stop them from driving unless some idiot gives them there keys to there vehicle. To me and THE BMV DRIVING IS A PRIVELDGE NOT AN HONOR! Answer honestly and kindly no need to be hateful in your answers it's a question. I have discovered a lot of states are doing this and If it makes children and others safer I am all for it.!!!!!

My daughters friend wanted to buy a car from us. He agrees on a price of £120 (its an old car) but can only pay £50 at that time and agrees to bring the other £70 when he gets paid. I got him to sign the registration document but i never posted it. He went to london in it and never came back to pay the rest. We went to his flat and his friends gave us the key to the car and said take it back, the car has been broken into and the lock on the door is damaged and the steering colum is broke. Anyway we got it back and his girlfreind is demanding the £50 back. Were do we stand legally if we refuse to give it back because of the damage to the car. It is still registered in my hubbys name but the kid did sign the registration document. Are we still the legal owner or is the kid??? Need advice urgently. Thanx.

I was off from work today and was changing lanes to another freeway in a major city. The traffic was not too fast since it's rush-hour, but the lane I switched into was in a complete stop about 10 cars ahead. I slammed my brake and seconds later I hit the guy in front of me.

I felt the bump but both cars only had minor scraches. The other driver was complaining about headache and neck/shoulder pain but denies in need for medical care to the police.

We exchanged insurance info, but I thought he would just let it go since it's just so minor and his car is quite old.

But I got a call from him complaining that his rear door knobs are "stuck" that he can't open them.

So he offered us to settle on our own after he brings the car to a machanics tomorrow. He also said that he'll see if the pain feels better in the morning.

I'm just wondering if this is the best way to do it since we both don't get our insurance rate raised.

Assuming this is that a flaud, is settling it on our own th

My parents say that since I don't have insurance...it's not ok for me to drive their cars by myself (even though their cars are fully insured and they themselves have insurance) are they just being overprotective and overexaggerating? Is there an ACTUAL law stating that uninsured teen drivers can't drive a car at all until they get insurance?
