this is a joke rigth, excuse me we are living in America you have to pay for everything. what can happen OK i want to let you know 1.if the police stop you they will take you car away, they will not given to you until you paid the town truck, and they will chard you extra money for each day that the car is in the garage, on less you paid extra money again to they take to you home , and on top of that you will go to the court paid a ticket that the police will give you and that day you need to bring ins.proof and they will fk you driver record, imagine if you have a accident .so then went you paid all that money and you calculate probably with that amount you will paid a whole year of ins.

As soon as your late on paying insurance your insurance company contacts the DMV and they'll send you a happy gram in the mail. You'll have a suspended drivers license and a fine of around $8.00 per day of insurance lapse. You won't be able to drive for as many days as you let it lapse. This is a one shot deal. The next time you let it lapse you will be without a license for 6 month suspension and a fine from the DMV(much more than what insurance cost in the first place). Besides if you get caught driving on a suspended license you will have a even bigger fine, plus you will lose your license for a prolong amount of time.Your much better off just paying for car insurance, especially for the accident purposes,(ya never know, even if it's not your fault)...It's the law so you will get caught.

Hopefully, you will get caught and lose your license. Oh wait, anybody who would drive without insurance wouldn't stop driving just because their license got taken away. You know, we all have things we "don't wanna pay for anymore". But that's just too bad. You have a social and legal responsibility to carry the proper amount of insurance on your vehicle. What if you caused a serious accident and people were injured or killed, or you totaled their car? Is it just their tough luck because you "don't wanna pay for insurance anymore"? No, you'll get sued and the jury will award the plaintiff every asset you own as well as a percentage of every paycheck you earn for the rest of your life. If I sound angry, it's because I am sick and tired of irresponsible jerks who just plain don't care about the effects their selfish acts may have on others.

Worst case scenario, you have an at-fault accident, put a young heart surgeon with a family in a wheel chair, and lose a lawsuit for several million dollars. You cannot bankrupt your way out of that, so you pay every month for the rest of your life, you will never again own a new car, and will never own a home. You will have to have pre-paid Visa or Mastercard. Best case scenario, you are my neighbour, and I thump you upside the head everytime you make a move to drive until you finally buy insurance.
Don't even think about being such an irresponsible putz.

Unless you live in Mexico
almost all states require insurance that is because some people can't afford to fix the car if they wreck it and make a financial burden on others...
If you are pulled over with no Ins. you will be ticketed for it. If you cause an accident then you are totally liable for all damages and if you hit me I have uninsured motorists insurance on my 3 cars, but I would come after you for my deductible. and my increase in insurance. Lots of court time too.
If you can't pay for hitting my 71 Pantera that has a coverage of 75,000 that is what I would want from you for repairs and I would take you to court to get it.... see why it is just a necessary evil.

You don't pay, the insurance is canceled. Then the notification goes to the state, and they suspend your license. Next time you are stopped for any reason, even a burned out license plate light, they run your license and find out you are running without insurance and driving with a suspended license. You get a free ride to jail in the back of a black and white, and I come take your car to the impound yard where it stays gathering daily storage fees until you bring me proof of insurance specific to that car, and a licensed driver to take it away. Thank you for keeping me in business. Cash only by the way.

If you still owe on that car the bank will get notice of your lack of full coverage and that is a reason for the bank to protect there investment they will repo your car. Other wise accidents happen even if some one else wrecks you the police will ask for insurance cards and what then? Pulled over at a DUI check point or stopped for speeding? Always the police ask for proof of insurance...

If you don't pay your bill, your insurance company will inform the DMV and if you get pulled over or your plates are run, the cops will see your plates have been suspended and remove them from the vehicle and possibly have it towed. Then, to get them back, you pay a huge fine plus you have to carry an SR-22 guarantee for 2-3 years which will cost you more, plus the insurance company will charge you a higher premium since you're a risk. I know, I had this happen when my dad neglected to pay the insurance bill.
