Delays after a car accident...prescriptions?...
I was involved in a car wreck last Thursday, (( i got hit by a 18 weeler))so not my fault... the insurance gave total losyt to my car...i got a Lawyer to representme..now im having my first appointment today with the spinal doctor but i havent get any of my medications for pain that i got prescrived at the hospital the day of the accident...(( i dont have insurance)) so i cant get it on my own.....why the lawyers can cant get the other side to pay for my meds right aaway?

Most Doctors will work with you if it's an accident case.
They know there'll be a settlement.
Most insurance companies will cover medical expenses early.

um.. thats not how it works. The at fault party "settles" with you at the end for a lump sum

Why you ask? B/c.. if they didnt.. people could keep asking for hand outs years and years to come.

Lets say they were poor on christmas... "oh lets just call the car insurance company and say our back is hurting again"

Sorry... thats the risk you took when you didnt have insurance. Now you must pay the consequences.

Because it doesn't work that way. They are not going to pay anything to you for anything until they have been ordered to by a judge or the insurance company settles with you. You pay for these things up front, keep the receipts, and the lawyer will see that you are reimbursed for your expenses.
