The truck that I bought has no title, and the previous owner cannot be tracked down. The truck has been custom built, I belive from several different trucks. It is a great truck looks good and runs great. I have no idea how I will be able to register it in new mexico. Does anyone have any ideas how I can register it?

Shouldn't have bought a vehicle with no title. For all you know, it may be stolen.

Unbelievable that someone would stoop so low. And the benefit to them of removing those starred questions? Okay, obviously that would be a drawback to having your questions and answers public. The plus side of having them public is that anyone can read the answers, and someone might really benefit from the information. The person deleting these questions is probably watching to see what you star. That person could report the question, but wouldn't YA make it so the only person who can delete the question is the person who posted it? Otherwise, everyone whose questions are public is open to that happening. Doesn't seem fair. Is there someone who's supposed to monitor the activity on here and make sure stuff like that isn't happening? The only other person who might be able to delete questions is a moderator who finds the question offensive. That said, one topic that seems okay to some people (say religious or political in nature) might be seen as offensive by others but is not worthy of being deleted. So where do you draw the line on offensive? So how do you find out who's doing this? Why would someone be stalking you? What can the rest of us (and you in the future) do to prevent something like this from happening?

OK, buying a vehicle without a title is called . . . being ripped off. Because it's not the other person's to SELL, unless they have a title.

YOU NEED THE TITLE.

Write down the VIN, and go to your local DMV, and see if it's a stolen truck. Which would be a bummer, because then it gets returned to the owner, and you're out the cash. If it's NOT stolen, bring whatever paperwork you have, to show the DMV people. They'll help you find out the last owner, which is who you'll have to go to in order to get this thing titled & registered.

Try to find a salvage title or you could go to the DMV and go through the proper steps to get a replacement title or have the Higway Patrol or State Police make you a new tag with new #'s as a custom built vehicle.

If you paid without getting a title, you may be sr***d.
If you can find a VIN you can try to register it with whatever bill of sale you've got.
If they run the VIN and a problem comes up you may take a loss.
