The dealer isn't the one that issues license plates. The State's Department of Motor Vehicles (whichever state you are in) issues them once you have registered your vehicle with them. These should come automatically in the mail once the car is registered with the DMV.

if the dealership turned in the paperwork to mvd then they will be sent to you,,,,if not then chances are it's still at the dealership waiting to be processed. go to you MVD office & ask them if new plates have been issued...
