When the police stop you and run your driver lic and the car lic from where do there computer obtain the information, in another words from where do they get this information is it only dmv

I worked there. They get the info from multiple databases from each city and state where, license plates, drivers license, etc are registered. That information goes into a massive central database that is available for any law enforcement agency to use. The one I worked for is Texas Department of Public Safety in Austin, Texas.

there are 44 states linked to one information center so it depends on where you live.
it is a crime/dmv search-by your name-and license number
outstanding warrents show up so it isn't just dmv. it's the man. car license plate is a vehicle search-and they can choose weather to search the owners name for outstanding warrents or any basic info. it is a powerful search engine linked to the states computars. stay out of trouble or move to a country that you can bribe the cops. any country south of the usa believes in the barter system.

Well the car info yes would run thru DMV records... however they also run the car info and your info thru their local records as well...

There is a national computer and also a state network. so if you are wanted in another state, better try to outrun them!
