The fact that you have internet you do not have to go to the post office you can do it on line. The only time this may be a problem is if you have recently only insured or MOT'd your vehicle the system may not be updated yet but should be under the new MID rules

Go on the the DVLA website to pay your car tax, you will have to enter the ref number from your tax reminder letter. You can do this upto 14 days before your tax is due as long as you already have tax on the vehicle.

you will receive you tax disc in the post usually within the 7 days better than queueing up in the post office
