In New york--- if you let your insurance run out on a motorcycle and don't start a new plan, yet you still have it registered and on the road, will you be fined?

We don't drive the bike... in fact it's in storage with plates on it... just kind of forgot about renewing the insurance :(

Depending on your state, you may be required to maintain insurance on a currently registered vehicle. If the state checks and finds out you don't have insurance they could suspend the tags.

Insurance is to cover an accident. If you are not riding it, you shouldn't be in an accident. Coverage to protect the bike in case of a fire or such may be desirable. Some States (Florida) require a current license and insurance on any vehicle on your property.

As long as the motorcycle is not on the road, it doesn't have to be registered. But if you ever ride it and the police stop you, then you can be ticketed.

You will not be fined as long as you dont get caught riding the bike
