I USED to get 35 mpg. then suddenly it went down to lower than 20. I had it looked at, was told there were no leaks, put 5 gallons in it, and got 150 miles in a single trip (appx 30 mpg) so am I being paranoid? Or is someone stealing my gas? (I know some cars have a kind of mesh thing that will keep hoses from being able to reach all the way down into the tank...is my Jetta one?)

After driving my friends manual ls integra, i decided that my auto ls needed a man transmission. So I'm trying to decide whether or not it would be worth the time and money to put a gsr transmission in my car. Since money is hard to come by for college students...about how much would this cost, labor included? How long would it take me to gather all the parts (roughly)?

if so would it be a good swap or a sucky swap?
also would it have good horsepower being bone stock?
would the weight of the engine be a problem since the nissan is so light?
if u could give me advice that would be great!

I'm debating to get one. My options are wait a while for a newer car or go with a cheaper but more powerful domestic 91 Mustang. my real question is how well to they hold up. i don't want a car that has to stay in the shop all the time. plus my brother is pressuring me into getting one since he's in the Black Mustang Club. the one i'm looking at is 91 GT with 98,000 miles.

Does anyone know what these switches are? They are to the left of my cigarette lighter, they say warning lights, and there are 2 switches (one for the front and one for the rear). When I flip them a light comes on the switch but nothing happens on the outside of the truck. What are these?

and the GM 3800 engine? like gas mileages,power,etc. The reason is I am test driving a 2003 chevrolet monte carlo and it has a 3400 SFI engine in it. I have owned a 1989 pontiac bonneville in the past that had a 3800 and I know that car got great gas mileage. I would appreciate hearing from a certified mechanic that is familar with the two engines or anyone that is famillar with the two engines.

If a timing chain fails on a 98 Sunfire 2.2L, will the piston hit the valves, and if so, is it ok to try and fix the engine or just replace it with a good used one?

i have done everything to my intake on my truck a granatelli mass air flow k/n cold air filter and a 80 mm thotle body and i all so have short type headers and hytech programmer runs great but engine light is on and the code is showing lean air mixters on both engine banks is there a way to fix this or is ok to run it this way?

cars works fine until i stop and go at intersections then motor will start skiping.once car has sat awhile it works ok.

I have a 2001 chevy silverado 1500 HD with coil near plug. Do they make msd ignitions for this type of system. If so do I have to buy 8 seperate coils or is there another way to replace your ignition system with MSD. What is the average cost of the type of system I am looking for.
