Ibought a car from a private party for cash(i have receipt)one week ago. I haven't been able to drive the car except for one time to the DMV and Insurance agent. Every other time I got in to drive the car it wouldn't start. Can I get my money back?

Anyone know the VIN numbers for a 1979 Olds Cutlass. I am tryin to find out if it is a V8 or not and what size the motor is and other things about it. So if anyone knows the codes and what they mean then please help. Or if there is anyone that knows the V8 codes. Thanx everyone!

Is it true that in toronto canada, price of a car which has been used by driving school people is less than the same other car (with all other parameters same). if yes how much is the difference. (e.g. honda civic priced 7000 $) thanks

I have a 1968 Cadillac Coupe DeVille and I have agreed to sell it to a co-worker at my new Job, at an Automotive Parts Company. Hes going to buy it and knows the condition, basically hes going to restore the entire car. It runs great and has no problems with anything on the car but it does have trouble starting if you leave it sit for a few days. If I sell this car to him, and for some reason he runs into problems, can he come after me and try and get his money back, or sue me???

Unemployment benefits can I bring that to a car dealership in place of paystubs to buy a car. Where i live you need a car to go anywhere. I am looking for a $5000 - $6000 loan to buy a used car. I can't use my credit union because they wont loan me enough for the car (it costs more than blue book and the car has over 100,000 miles on it but they don't take into account the fact that it has a bunch of aftermarket parts and a new engine). I tried Capital One and I liked how they didn't ask about the car and just sent me a blank check so I could purchase any car I wanted but they have a minimum of $7500 for the loan and I don't want to spend that much right now. I have an okay credit score (nothing bad on it but only about 2 years history) and I'm really curious as to what my best option is. Is there another company like Capital One that doesn't require information on the car and will loan smaller ammounts or should I go with a personal loan with a higher interest rate (I will have this payed off quite a bit faster than 5 years)? Also for the second option which companies do you recommend? Than you.

I am looking to buy a new truck and did some research on what my current truck is worth. I can make about 3K more if I sell it out right instead of trading it in to the dealer. I am not sure of the taxes invovled. I have always traded in and never sold on my own. If I were to sell, I would sell before I buy so I could put the extra money toward lowering the financing amount. What would be the best route for me to take?

Im curious. Working in a lincoln mercury dealership is strange. People would rather buy a lincoln MKX from us than pay 5k less half a mile down the road for a ford edge.

I dont really see the logic in it other than so people can say they own a lincoln.

Is there any place that you can find out the manufactured cost on a vehicle? I have a discount in which I am allowed to pay 3 percent more than what the manufactured cost of the vehicle is...but if I don't know what the cost is, I can't tell if they are being honest or not, any suggestions?

then you decide you dont want it 3 days later but the MI seller already deposited the check. so you put a stop payment on the check. there are 3 carbon copies of the reciept of sale and we both have them and you have the title too already signed by both parties. what happens if the seller still wants his money for the vehicle and there is a stop on the check, MI state law is " sold as is" ? what happens?
