my step dad has good credit and said he will co-sign to help me get a used car. I went to a dealership and they said that they will not accept an out of state co-signer. Are all dealerships this way?

I just got a quote for a 2002 Chevrolet Malibu. I wont be making any payments on it. Im 18 years old and the insurance is going to make me pay a down payment of $502 and my Monthly payments will be $236. So many people tell me that I need to shop around more. I have a learners License now. If i go and take the operators test i already know i will fail so I need more practice on my own I CAN drive just dont have much experience on a real road. So is $236 good you know for someone my age.? I really need this car before the end of the month. I have to have a way to go to college and Work.

Just bought an '88 buick Regal from a private owner (for less than $1,000 so Lemon Law does not apply)...

We just found that the "Check Engine" light was on -- the seller had covered it with black tape (dashboard is dark, so we didn't see it at first).

As usual, the handwritten receipt includes the phrase "as is".

If there is a major issue with the car, do I have a Small Claims case, for deception?

Thanks!

I drive a 1993 BMW 328 and I am getting tired of being out accelerated by new model Honda's and even Ford suv's at the stop light. Thinking of getting a faster car. Not worry about top speed, handling, just to help me win stop light battles. For best bang for the buck I am thinking of a Mustang GT or a Corvette. A vette can beat 95% of the cars out there in 0-60, a Z06 can probably beat 99% of cars. What's your vote? Any other suggestions.

I have 20 year old son who wanted a new car. And i realized that was a justified request because it took him way too much time to commute on bus and subway for school and he lost his job for being late. So i figured the cheapest new car would cost around $12,000 to $15,000. I decided that my 15 to 20 years saving that i put in my savings account would be used to let him buy a new car. So i wrote him a check for $14,000 and told him to buy a new car in one full payment. However to my shock he did not buy a new car.

He purchased a 1999 Lexus LS 400 for $13,800. That car has 120,000 miles on it. Its more than 8 years old. I expected him to buy somethin like 2008 toyota corolla. I angrily confronted him, but he said the 99 lexus is more comfortable, roomier & powerful than 08 corolla. But how can he ignore that it has 120,000 miles on it? Also, with V8 engine that requires premium gas, he will pay heavy price. I feel the car will break down & need repairs frequently. What do u think?

I have tried to sell my 1992 manual 4 door Honda Civic on different websites, even paying for listing, but all to no avail; I was told by someone that my car would sell on a racer site, but all the ones I have seen are asking for a fee; I would appreciate honest and positive replies to this question; I really need help. Thanks!

Do you think consumer report is a puppet for The Unions and get told what vehicles to say are reliable and which are not. Or do you think that they sell out to the highest bidder to say what vehicles are reliable and witch are not?

I am tired of hearing what I should buy from individuals that are obviously bias towards certain brands from time to time is like someone is paying them off to say what ever they need to say so people will buy certain products(could it be the Unions?) Why don't they pick out random people and have them test the vehicles and get the review from their input? Tundras are unreliable is like saying GM is not the best truck in the World.

If it was a dealer, they would just pay off my car and get a power of attorney.

I owe about 6500 and my car should sell for about 7500.

I bought a used car three weeks ago (04 Volkswagon Golf), i have had major problems with the car from day one. The engine keeps cutting out. I phoned the dealership where i got the car from and asked for a refund, they said I was not entitled to a refund as they only require to give a refund after they have had three attempts to sort the fault, is this true?
They are currently on there second attempt to sort the fault. in total I have had the car for 20 days and it has been in the garage for 15 days.
