I drive a 1993 BMW 328 and I am getting tired of being out accelerated by new model Honda's and even Ford suv's at the stop light. Thinking of getting a faster car. Not worry about top speed, handling, just to help me win stop light battles. For best bang for the buck I am thinking of a Mustang GT or a Corvette. A vette can beat 95% of the cars out there in 0-60, a Z06 can probably beat 99% of cars. What's your vote? Any other suggestions.

Just to explain it, I am talking about the situation where some jerk tries to pass you and cut you off to change lanes or to make a turn at the last possible second... just because they figure they can. Having a fast car like a vette acts as a deterent at least I think it is. I know it sounds childish but nobody would stand for someone butting in when they are waiting to in line to pay at the supermarket so why do we allow it on the road?

A Z06 is a great all american car but for stoplight to stoplight performance considering price, performance, maintainance and gas consumption, I would preffer a Subaru WRX STI.

If you have a Z06 and get smoked by japanese cars, it sucks!, with an STI and good shifting you could smoke a Z06 and would have a grin to die for!

Stop trying to win drag races then.

If an idiot wants to try to cut you off you'd be a lot safer just backing off from them and letting them kill them self another day (and without crashing into your car).
