I made the huge mistake of cosigning on a car loan for my cousin who has really bad credit. I am now looking into buying a house and would like to get my name off that loan. I know the only way would be for him to get another loan (refinancing) on his name, but I was told we would have to wait at least 8 months to guarantee approval. I want to do it now, but I am afraid he won't qualify yet. It's only been three moths, and I am making the payments so I know they always arrive on time. How much longer should I wait?

If you bought a new car and discovered you really do not like the car at all and the payments are way too high, what would you do? After 6 months.

I'm in need of a new car. I'm looking at this nice black BMW for a little less than 20,000. I want to put down the average/minimum for a down payment, and pay it off within 5-6 years. How much is a good price? I want to avoid getting ripped off.

To those that answered this question, thank you all.

Here's the break down, I have $26K in the bank and I make 38K net after taxes and all deduction ($3200/month). I work for a fortune 100 company with 152,000 employees around the world so I doubt they will go belly up anytime soon (stock keeps growing).

I drive 250 miles a week and my monthly expenses (gas, rent, electric, phone, groceries and others) are $2,200/month.

Car lease pmt is going to be 550/mo with 110 bucks in insurance so total of $2,860 which leaves me ~$350 in savings each month.

I am looking to go back for my graduate degree soon (1 year).

Can someone advise if this payment would work out for me, any experiences are appreciated.

I am 24 and currently I make 61k and have 30k in the bank. I live in New Jersey so weather can be a factor but not a huge one. I take the bus alot for work to go into NYC but still need to drive to it. I am currently living at home so do not have rent, but I do pay car insurance and other bills.

This whole thing is new to me and I have no idea what % I should be spending etc etc. So any suggestions on types of cars or how much I should be looking to spend would be appreciated.
