Unlike France and Germany, where they are patriotic and tend to buy cars manufactured by French and Germans respectively, we have a culture of buying cars manufactured in other countries. As well as the obvious tax implications - i.e. a BMW made in Germany will have VAT levied there, which will thus go into the German economy instead of ours - those involved in the manufacturing process and the car's production up to the point it leaves a foreign country will earn money and pay tax in that country. If all of the production of the car took place in the UK, ALL of that money would go into our economy. I suspect the figure is so astronomical that the lack of patriotism shown by buyers of foreign-built cars will be truly astounding - bordering on treason!!

Im turning 16 this year and I plan to put a $4,000 down payment and pay about $250 a month. This will be my first car, but my dad has taught me a lot about taking care of a car, so I decided to buy a brand new Toyota Yaris S Sedan. So im wondering if this would be a good decision for a first car?

I just saw a 90s baretta in a junkyard and was thinking about purchasing it cuz it was cheap, it has the 2.4 and i know the 2.2 is better, this is a two door coupe, with a sunroof, 5speed, not sure of mileage, it said btu or btz edition and not sure if the lip kit was stock or not. . . also the junkyard said that it will need a clutch cable, which shows they dont know much since its a hydrolic clutch and might be the slave or master cylender, not sure whether to buy, i am going to have a shop look at the tranny to see if it is the master or slave cylender, if its not, then im not gonna buy it.

I was recently working at a auto dealership who sold new and used cars. They had a used car that came in and had just been detailed. Generally they detail these cars before I got to inspect them and perform an oil change. I think it is an attempt to cover any problems.
This particular car that I was told to work on, I was told to check the intake real good for any leaks. The problem was that the car had its engine washed by the dealership. I already made my boss aware that I cannot check for these leaks after they wash it. However, my boss continued to have me check after they been washed.
Generally when we do an inspection and oil change, we are not told very many specifics. This particular vehicle, I was specifically told to check the intake and let him know if their was a leak. So I did. And even though it was washed, I found it leaking. This again is very uncommon to find it leaking after the wash. So I informed him as directed. I was then told that it was minor and nothing to
